Why, I do believe that would have been Mexico - knowing full well that to do so would kill the livelihood of many Mexican farmers. Did the government of Mexico care? Apparently, not at all. Have you ever been to Appalachia? How about the Ozarks? Google "The Children of Appalachia". You'll enjoy it. It's right up your alley, EXCEPT these American children don't fit your favored ethnic profile. Good luck. I gave up responding sanely to his ravings.

Provocateur wrote: Top Five Health Care Reform Lies Lie #1: President Obama wants to euthanize your grandma!!! The truth: These accusations—of "death panels" and forced euthanasia—are, of course, flatly untrue. As an article from the Associated Press puts it: "No 'death panel' in health care bill." What's the real deal? Reform legislation includes a provision, supported by the AARP, to offer senior citizens access to a professional medical counselor who will provide them with information on preparing a living will and other issues facing older Americans. Lie #2: Democrats are going to outlaw private insurance and force you into a government plan!!! The truth: With reform, choices will increase, not decrease. Obama's reform plans will create a health insurance exchange, a one-stop shopping marketplace for affordable, high-quality insurance options. Included in the exchange is the public health insurance option—a nationwide plan with a broad network of providers—that will operate alongside private insurance companies, injecting competition into the market to drive quality up and costs down. If you're happy with your coverage and doctors, you can keep them. But the new public plan will expand choices to millions of businesses or individuals who choose to opt into it, including many who simply can't afford health care now. Lie #3: President Obama wants to implement Soviet-style rationing!!! The truth: Health care reform will expand access to high-quality health insurance, and give individuals, families, and businesses more choices for coverage. Right now, big corporations decide whether to give you coverage, what doctors you get to see, and whether a particular procedure or medicine is covered—that is rationed care. And a big part of reform is to stop that. Health care reform will do away with some of the most nefarious aspects of this rationing: discrimination for pre-existing conditions, insurers that cancel coverage when you get sick, gender discrimination, and lifetime and yearly limits on coverage. And outside of that, as noted above, reform will increase insurance options, not force anyone into a rationed situation. Lie #4: Obama is secretly plotting to cut senior citizens' Medicare benefits!!! The truth: Health care reform plans will not reduce Medicare benefits. Reform includes savings from Medicare that are unrelated to patient care—in fact, the savings comes from cutting billions of dollars in overpayments to insurance companies and eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse. Lie #5: Obama's health care plan will bankrupt America!!! The truth: We need health care reform now in order to prevent bankruptcy—to control spiraling costs that affect individuals, families, small businesses, and the American economy. Right now, we spend more than $2 trillion dollars a year on health care. The average family premium is projected to rise to over $22,000 in the next decade—and each year, nearly a million people face bankruptcy because of medical expenses. Reform, with an affordable, high-quality public option that can spur competition, is necessary to bring down skyrocketing costs. Also, President Obama's reform plans would be fully paid for over 10 years and not add a penny to the deficit. the only problem you have is that obama did not write the legislation, has not read the legislation and has already distanced himself from whats in the bill . he is going to sign it because of the title nothing more . I really wish that the liberals would make up their shared mind , one minute its not obamas bill the next its all obamas bill . next time its your turn to use the brain that is shared by all libs , maybe you could ask the oracle exactly who's bill this is ok ?

27 million people on the edge of destitution. Imagine Illinois, Pennsylvania and Oregon, all at the same time, unemployed, under employed, forced part time...etc. That's what 27 million americans looks like. Illinois, Pennsylvania and Oregon, all at the same time. Look at the legislative agenda: HC Reform, Can N Trade, Dodd's bank reform... Now, does a SINGLE THING on that list look like an economic jump start? A jobs growth bill? The democrats have NOTHING ON THE SLATE to get jobs going again. NOTHING. 27 million people on the edge of destitution. Michigan just went WAY over 15% unemployed. LIBERAL Herbert wrote a column called "Does Obama Get It?" where be basically said Obama seems clueless to the REAL pain in the nation. And no plan to deal with it. He wrote ANOTHER piece on Monday where he AGAIN questioned Obama's priorities called "A Word, Mr. President?" Eleanor Clift wrote a peice called "Dems should focus on the economy" where she points out the "tone deaf" democrats and essentially says WTF? about them not paying attention to the message. 27 million people on the edge of destitution. HC reform, Cap N Trade, Bank Reform. Does ANY of that look like the democrats actually CARE that you're out there struggling to stay 1/2 a step ahead of homeless? Struggling just to feed your kids? Seriously. Look at that legislative agenda. Doesn't it look like Obama and the democrats PLAN to keep you DESPERATE for quite a long time? Still think they care about you? Or are you finding out, Herbert is right: "Does Obama Get It?" No, Obama and the democrats are clueless. Out of touch with the entire nation and the pain we're in. And absolutely NO PLAN whatsoever to deal with it. Obama's message? "get used to it." HC, Cap N Trade, Bank Reform Not a single idea how to spur jobs in the nation. Not a single plan on board...nothing. Just give you more money in unemployment. STILL think Obama and the democrats know what they're doing? Take a cold hard look at them right now. You're witnessing the abject failure of the democrats all across the board. Mindless rabid dogs chasing their agenda, no matter what you say, or how bad you're hurting out here.

Quotes from LIBERAL Herbert's column called "Does Obama Get It?" The big question on the domestic front right now is whether President Obama understands the gravity of the employment crisis facing the country. Does he get it? The signals coming out of the White House have not been encouraging. He wrote ANOTHER piece on Monday where he AGAIN questioned Obama's priorities called "A Word, Mr. President?" We have spent the better part of a year locked in a tedious and unenlightening debate over health care while the jobless rate has steadily surged. It’s now at 10.2 percent. Families struggling with job losses, home foreclosures and personal bankruptcies are falling out of the middle class like fruit through the bottom of a rotten basket. The jobless rate for men 16 years old and over is 11.4 percent. For blacks, it’s a back-breaking 15.7 percent.
We need to readjust our focus. We’re worried about Kabul when Detroit has gone down for the count. Eleanor Clift piece called "Dems should focus on the economy" Sometimes I think the Democrats have a death wish. For Harry Reid to ruminate about putting off health-care reform until next year is to give the Teabaggers even more time to stir up populist outrage about an out-of-touch Congress. With every poll showing that the No. 1 concern among voters is the weak job picture, the White House seems unresponsive.
……..But to conclude that Democrats have no worries is "denial on steroids," says Bill Galston, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and a veteran of the Clinton White House. However worthy and necessary the Obama priorities of health-care reform and climate-change legislation are, exit polls on Tuesday show the economy and jobs are the top priority for voters. Do you REALLY think that the democrats care about you? The media is already starting to point out how out of touch Obama and the democrats are. If that escalates, the show is over for Obama. It's already starting. 58% of the nation thinks the next persident will be a republican. 60% of independents say that, 52% of WOMEN say that.. only 31% of democrats say that. Not even your OWN PARTY thinks the dems will hold the WH. THAT'S how badly Obama and the democrats have failed the nation out there. Tone deaf out of touch. As Camille Paglia, a DEMOCRAT said, when did her party become the party of effete latte sippin' big government sycophant elitists that they used to protest against in the 60s? Obama can't even beat "no name cited" in a poll about if the election were held today. He would only get 45% support, and 49% WOULD OPPOSE. Independents would oppose him by a 2 TO 1 MARGIN. Obama would lose specifically because he's OBAMA. People would vote specifically AGAINST him.(Can't even beat "no name" on the poll.) Reality check for the democrats anyone? obama is about to become Carter, Part Deaux. Ineffectual, incompetent, incapable of leading a nation in a crisis.

Sorry, 31% of DEMOCRATS say that the next president will be a DEMOCRAT. Apologies, it's MUCH worse for the dems. Only 31% believe the next president will be a democrat. Even your own party knows how badly Obama and the democrats have failed the nation.

spud wrote: Wow, free healthcare. And all the slackers and ne'er do wells rejoiced because they could continue on their slovenly way. I agree with that! ..but the REAL rejoicing will come from the HARD WORKING/tax paying men, women, and their children (Americans) that have suffered and been denied health insurance because of pre-existing conditions, or denied coverage by their insurance companies for unfair reasons!!! They'll also be rejoicing because the Pharmaceutical Companies will no longer be able to set prices for scripts with NO CAP LIMIT anymore:) Please remember..most that suffer from no health insurance are those that are hard working and tax paying Americans. The NUMBER ONE CAUSE of bankruptcy is medical bills, and that has destroyed many good American families! ...also, the lazy/slaking/sloven people you speak of probably ALREADY HAVE free health care...through the Government medicare program for people that live under poverty level. SO...my point is that the majority of the people that will benefit from health care reform will be GOOD hard working Americans...no those slackers...they already live off of our dime:) I beg you to watch this one minute video!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Sinajuavi wrote: The poor go to the emergency room for that stuff NOW, you moron! What this bill does is give healthcare access to get to a DOCTOR or clinic. This means it will be CHEAPER than under the current system. Like all dittoheads, you have no clue what the HELL you're talking about. Well under the Health care bill 12-20 million illegal aliens will still use our Hospital emergency rooms like their own personal physician!

Dude wrote: <quoted text> lol I was thinking the same thing. I have friends who are in the medical field. I have heard so many ridiculous stories. Mothers calling 911 because her baby is crying. People calling 911 for minor injuries and other stupid stuff. And none of these people can't be turned away either. The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (42 U.S.C.§ 1395dd, EMTALA) is a United States Act of Congress passed in 1986 as part of the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act. It requires hospitals and ambulance services to provide care to anyone needing emergency treatment regardless of citizenship, legal status or ability to pay.

Really?? Does that sound a little desperate or quite possibly uneducated to you? Wow 2000 pages, maybe each one of the 220 that approved it read around 10.5 pages each? That sound about right? On a serious note I understand that the Congressman have their staffers read it and tell them the important points.
