Too many "Christians" are CINO (Christians In Name Only). They can't even force the teachings of Jesus on themselves.

But there may be hope. The new Pope is a rational man with a beating heart. He has a history of helping the poor. Maybe now more Catholics will follow their leader. My hope is that Catholic Republicans will see the error of their ways.

I do have to say the pope does seem to be trying to be like Jesus instead of Hitler like most Christians do.

Few weeks back this rich big shot who is a big show off Christian was yelling at townhall meeting about the evils of being gay and such. Here is is has closed business after business because of GREED and he is a fat tub of goo because of gluttony. GUESS HE MISSED THOSE SINS.

The term "Christian" has a big tent. It includes those who adhere to the biblical teachings about tending to those who suffer, as Christianity was originally intended. But it also includes those extremists who use it as a bludgeon for imposing their bigotry and oppression on others. When you want to spew hate, the Bible makes a good cover.

There are also many charitable human beings who do not rely on religion or the Bible for doing good. I believe that most people have a natural tendency toward compassion, and don't need scripture to guide them. Those who don't feel this compassion may have a gaping spiritual hole in their being, perhaps from some brutality they have experienced in their lives. The Bible may have a positive effect on some of them, but too often it becomes a weapon to get back at some perceived personal injustice. It is this latter group of so-called Christians who make Christianity reviled by so many.

My hope is that this Pope can awaken the true meaning of Christianity in the many who admire him, and call the bluff of the phony "Christians" who exploit the religion for their own hateful and greedy purposes.

The pseudo-patriots on the extreme right have co-opted the flag as well as Christianity. Both belong to those who behave with compassion toward their fellow beings. We should fight to get them back.

No, they don't have to, but then again they don't. If they did, then they would be like liberals.

Like the gays do with the definition of marriage, you can't be a Christian in name only.......... Because you wouldn't be a Christian in the first place.

The only people truly jubilant about Obamascam are prostitutes. They couldn't get health insurance before for their abortions, their sexually transmitted diseases, and Aids. Now we pay for everything. Isn't that Special.
