so my friend told me about the nitemare issues, but i didint pay attention, i just started day 8 yesterday, and i agree, i have tried to quit many times, this seems the easiest for me....but i had the most ridiculous and scary dreams last night. It seemed very real and i remember all of it. Lets just say by the end of the dream I was being chased in a car by zombies who seemed to be levatating at the speed of a car...honestly im not some kook and im a little afraid to go to sleep tonight

My friend took chantix to stop smoking and he had a horrible nightmare that he described to me. He said it was SO VIVID and in full colour that even after he woke up he had to slowly realise that it had never happened in real life, and that it was only a dream. He said that a black haired witch on a very fast motorcycle was at a red light that he partially ran. He said the light was yellow and he went thru it as it turned red, as can happen to anyone. He thought nothing of it, but a half mile later she flew up beside him and started shooting his truck with flames. He stomps the gas and she is chasing him thru the city, running over kids on bicycles and pets and other animals. She is cursing, screaming and freaking out. The bike is very fast and no matter how well he drives she could always catch up to him. Anyway, she made him wreck his truck at a bridge, and he went over the edge of it and down into a river. He managed to get out of his truck and swam to shore. Once he go there he pulls himself exhausted to a place where he won't drown, and there she stands! She starts spraying him with a flame thrower! Then he woked up in a completely soaked with sweat bed. He never took Chantix again.

Hey quiters,
I just got the perscription and I can not wait to have these nightmares. I have not had a nightmare in years and i mean years. I loved reading these stories and hope to provide some of my own. I will begin the sequence tomorrow after I somke my last pack. I have so many hopes and dreams that this drug will finally get me off nicotine and my family will get off my back. It is all in love. The hrardest thing is that i like to smoke, especially with a coffee or beer/s. Well no crap, right. Well wish me luck on my journey on being smoke free and the most important, having the most vivid nightmares we have all seen. Sounds sick but cool at the same time.
Later
good luck to you! write back with your side effects! you sound interesting!

I've been on Chantix for 3 wks. No smoking for almost two. Had some crazy dreams, a few disturbing, but nothing to write home about. Biggest problem for me was the sleep disruptions. I really started feeling it this past week. Like I've only slept a few hours. Skipped the nighttime pill last night and it was the first night I slept through in a while. Felt great. My plan is to ONLY take the 1st month so now begins my weaning off. Only side-effects nausea and sleep difficulties. But nothing severe. If you have trouble sleeping, just take the morning pill.

As far as stopping smoking, it takes some willpower for the first few days. Each day gets easier. I recommend trying to figure out why you feel you need to smoke in the first place. Once you realize it's an illusion, it makes it easier to say no, even when the cravings come. Anyways, smokers are really miserable with the fact they smoke. They're just really good at putting a positive spin on it and making it seem like they're not. ;)

I've been taking Chantix for just over a week and yesterday began the second week starter pack. I began having very vivid dreams since the very first day of taking the drug but last night was over the top. It was super vivid and realistic, and was just like being in a movie. It was so memorable/horrible I even shared it with my significant other and freaked him out a bit. I also woke up in the early hours of the morning only to fall asleep and continue the dream (similar to a previous poster)! It seemed like it lasted all night but who knows...it did follow a clear storyline and the dream ended like a movie ending might. I'm going to see what happens tonight after taking it earlier in the evening...and record this dream if it's any good. Maybe I'll get a movie deal out of this crazy stuff.:p

I started taking Chantix this past Monday. The first 2 days were ok. I actually feel the desire to smoke is almost gone. I did have very vivid dreams last night. It was a little unnerving. I can deal with the dreams. I am sure being told I have cancer with be a living nightmare! I am so motivated to stop smoking. Only thing that I do notice is a headache. Not too bad but never had them before. Anyone else experience this?
