This is another issue that can not be decided by courts when the U.S. Congress has already set the president. Must I remind everybody the courts are only there to rule on a law and it doesn't have the power to change policy.!!!

We must put this issue to a vote nationally,
It should be on the next Federal election.

LOL. You two must be having a hissy-fit with s-s marriage LEGAL in both NH and VT.

By the way, goseabees, when courts rule on a law, it very often does change policy. Those dang 'activist judges,' ay?

And this is exactly why the MA AG has filed a suit, contending that the US Congress does NOT have the authority to regulate state marriages. That authority has always rested with the individual states.

Civil rights and equality are declared in the Constitution to be natural, "God-Given." They are NOT subject to a vote.

You need to actually read the constitution.

You need to read the entire bible, everyone's interpretation of the bible and the constitution. And then take in consideration the times this was written. Don't take things so literally.

AND what? We the people have voted on alot of issues in this state (ma) only to have OUR vote thrown out by the politicians. WE voted out the seat belt--THEY said our vote didnt count and enacted a law anyway---WE voted out gay marriage--THEY threw our votes out and anacted a law allowing gay marriage---SO WHY DO YOU BELIEVE THAT OUR VOTE WOULD COUNT THIS TIME?

"We" voted out gay marriage and a law was enacted anyway? What state do you live in? No state that has marriage equality (VT, NH, MA, IA, ME, CT) has ever "voted it out."

Yes but only if one has faith in the people. Have we not become a country where the courts decide every thing?

Sorry folks, we don't get to vote on the rights of groups of people. Certain rights are enshrined in the US Constitution, others in state constitutions. Legislatures make laws, and if the judiciary branch of government decides that they are unconstitutional, they will be thrown out.

Not voting because you might not get your way is a wuss strategy.

In vermont the courts said the state must pass gay marriage or civil union. Note ! Not what you think is right or let the people vote on this issue but you must pass one
