Who are you today? What venom do you spew this morning? Do you come from Forum Circle? Someone over there admitted to being a troll here.
I'm "delighted" to meet you.

DH has a run to Union City next week. Missed this week cause of being in the hospital with that damn pancreas again. I am going to do my best to be ready to go with him and drive as much as possible. I HAVE to get good enough to cover when he is sick. We can't have that damn truck sit...it costs too much to sit: over $3K/month to just sit there. It's gotta work or it's gotta go!
This will be the first trip out with him when we are both nonsmokers. I bet we can really make miles without me whining to stop and have a cig every 2 hours! We are going to the beach if I go with him cause we will have a day layover before we start loading out there.
Well that should be a nice trip if he is feeling good. I love the beach and I really miss the west coast. I have friends in San Mateo and my brother used to live in Sunnyvale. You were good if you could last 2 hours without a cig. I'm so glad to be a non-smoker! Congrats on your quit.

This is only my second day smoke free but I realized in this last week that I also have been breaking out. Could be the stress of quiting.
It is going to take a few months for all the crap to get out of your body, it may even take longer. Be sure to drink LOTS of water and it will happen faster. My skin is finally acne free after all these years. It got worse when I first started taking the chantix. Be patient, and use a good topical acne medication, be sure you are getting enough vit D and calcium.

My first comment to this forum, but read a few. Wow! Did some research before I started taking Chantix, and I was a bit freaked by side effects some were having. Happy to say that I am on day 13 of taking with minimal problems. Having more dreams than usual, but nothing vivid or scary. Tired, though. Probably from dreaming and not having deep sleep. Had my last cig just over 24 hours ago and feel great. Not having what I would say are cravings, but feel something is missing. I smoked for 25 years and never thought this day would come so 'easily'. Don't get me wrong - nothing about this is easy, but definitely easy when compared to quiting cold turkey. Here's hoping this feeling stays!! Have others found it 'easy' then later had rough time?

I've had it pretty easy. A couple of rough spots here and there. But have been quit for over a year now and feeling great! Congrats on your quit.

About skin and acne. You need Vit D and calcium for your skin to look its best, lots of water too. Pure Emu Oil works best for moisturizing, keeping away wrinkles and acne control. Never use a toner. Go easy on the exfoliation, not too often, usually about once a month is fine. Neutrogena Foaming cleanser with salycilic acid is great for problem skin. Facial skin cells regenerate about every 25 days.

Smoking does a lot of damage to skin over the years both externally and internally. This damage CAN be fixed (our bodies are soooo amazing), but it takes time to undo what we have done to our skin.

The part of our skin that we actually see is dead keratinocytes cells, and most moisturizers do not penetrate this. Pure emu oil and hyarulonic acid are some of the few that will penetrate below the dead surface and truly moisturize the skin. Water works to moisturize from the inside out.

So concludes todays anatomy lesson.

Mel - Thanks for the thoughts ... I made a few adjustments to my morning routine - eat bkfst immediately after coming downstairs, make coffee, take 1mg chantix, then took your advice and got on here. BTW - sense of smell is coming back fast - yesterday got on the elevator after a smoker left and yikes, did we ever STINK when we smoked. Pee-yu! Nasty stuff.
I guess I smoked for toooo long, PizzaMan. My sense of smell is still pretty much dead, dangit.

I have been quit for 1 Month, 2 Weeks, 2 Days, 47 minutes and 52 seconds (46 days). I have saved $552.39 by not smoking 1,841 cigarettes. I have saved 6 Days, 9 hours and 25 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 8/24/2007 12:01 PM (I love the quitkeeper ...)

Audacity I am acutally in the 3 day club wahooo!!! I quite 10/7. I didn't figure it out until I saw Pizzaman's comment... I really do think the Chantix is making me loopy. I have not done it on a train or a plane...Maybe in a car or a bar...lol.
Ok question here, but I read the puffiness under your eyes can be from smoking. Anyone else have it and does it go away after stopping smoking?
I had a college friend who did it in a tree. Really.

Day 9 and hanging in there. A friend of mine called last night and offered me a free ticket to Widespread Panic this Saturday and I'm a bit apprehensive about accpeting because of the atmosphere of the show (smoking, drinking, etc). I've handled a few drinks at home and a couple at the bar, but this new setting may be a bit over the top. Any suggestions?
Feather: You're a nonsmoker. You don't smoke. You can go. Just remember, you don't smoke. Right? Right.
