glowplug wrote: <quoted text> I was kidding..Cheryl is our one and only Cheryl and she turned me on to Prescriptives foundation that really IS nice and one that I can actually wear! Also turned me on to the boots no. 7 line at Target. I am using moisturizer and line fill from there right now. I may be into a product that won't work..I am getting red blotches on my skin...kinda muted, but there. Gotta watch to see what is causing it. Anyway, the women here are really knowledgeable and have great info. DENA, tell me again about the powder you suggested? Mineral? I blew it and lost the little note I wrote it on. ooops. lol

Day 9 and hanging in there. A friend of mine called last night and offered me a free ticket to Widespread Panic this Saturday and I'm a bit apprehensive about accpeting because of the atmosphere of the show (smoking, drinking, etc). I've handled a few drinks at home and a couple at the bar, but this new setting may be a bit over the top. Any suggestions?

PizzaMan wrote: <quoted text> Mel - Thanks for the thoughts ... I made a few adjustments to my morning routine - eat bkfst immediately after coming downstairs, make coffee, take 1mg chantix, then took your advice and got on here. BTW - sense of smell is coming back fast - yesterday got on the elevator after a smoker left and yikes, did we ever STINK when we smoked. Pee-yu! Nasty stuff. I know what your saying about the smell. How embarrassing! I never realized when I walked I left the odor lingering in the air.

glowplug wrote: I have an off topic question...in fact, maybe I should open another thread? Does anyone else wake up at the same time every night/morning? Not the time you want to get up but in the middle of the night? I wake up at least 2-3 times every night now, but I ALWAYS wake up between 3:20 and 3:37 a.m. The most used time seems to be 3:24. I have had this happen for years. Not always the same time, seems like it will be this time for a while, then for a few months it might be 4:44 a.m. Nothing is happening at this time...a quiet, sleepy house, no newspaper delivery, no doggie restlessness...hummm??? anyone else? Hi Glow. Mine is always around 1:30am. Like you said nothing else is going on at that time. It's just about every single night. Most nights I can go back to sleep but the nights I can't I just toss and turn. Smoke free days 416. Love the new board. Everyone is playing so nice!

Pat in California wrote: Okay..3 hours ago I made it to 5 months without a smoke. I took my last 1/2 chantix on the 3rd..so I put on the big girl panties. I would still like to take the pill just because it does relieve anxiety...but also want to see how I do without it. I haven't had anything I couldn't handle, just some wishing for that "something" that will make me happy. I found that the cure for that anxiety that's better than a xanax. Just isn't practical 24/7. Ask any man what the cure for your headache is (or insert any malady that you mention to your DH)...then you know the answer. It works..trrrryyyy it..you'll like it.(what was that a commercial for? wayyyy back early 70's I think?) FIVE MONTHS! Hooray for you!

So today is day 7 on the Rx, and wow am I bitchy, it's not that I want to smoke, I would just like to walk down the street slapping people, yes that would make me feel lots better!!! How long does this lovely part last. I put in for a refill on my lorazapam that should help, but then I am a walking sleepy head. I don't know how it wakes people up at night, a chainsaw murderer in my bedroom couldn't wake me up lately.

CC in the Desert wrote: Good Morning all!! Happy 5 months Pat, wich I had the urge to go shopping!! I have a question. Has anyone experienced a change in their skin, specifically on the face? I am constantly breaking out and the only time I've ever had a problem in the past was pre-menstrual. My thought is that my body is trying to flush all of the toxins out, but I'm on day 15 today and I would've thought that this would be done by now. Any thoughts? This is only my second day smoke free but I realized in this last week that I also have been breaking out. Could be the stress of quiting.

glowplug wrote: <quoted text> I think it is very pervasive and I think there has been some research done on it. I may have to go some searching...just wondered how many others might experience it...Mike ssaid it even happens when he is out of town...the same time. I will have to pay attention when I to to TX and CA later in the year! I can sleep 12 hours straight when I go home to CA.(where are you going in CA) I grew up in San Fernando Valley. Wonder if it has to do with feeling comfort and security. My husband keeps track of how I sleep. He thinks I wake up a lot more than I think. He is a night owl and can survive on 3 or 4 hours of sleep. Not me I need at least 8 hours.
