A fresh start, how nice. The other was getting a bit unwieldy and long! Just a quick check in and then I am going to take a nap. I hate Sunday nights. I just can't sleep. Used to be I would get up and smoke a bit, go back to bed. Now I get up and read a bit. Must be an improvement!
a brand new day, a new canvas to create something beautiful. sweet dreams, baby.

Good Morning Everyone! Well, it's official! One month smoke-free!!!! I was down to just 6 pills left & no $$ so I started on 1/2 pill on Thursday. The cravings are pretty strong again though & I think I'm going to have to charge the scrip for 1 more month & go back to 1/day.
I glanced at the Sept. board before posting. Couldn't read everything since Friday but I just read the last couple of posts.
Nancy, I'm so very sorry to hear about your brother. You're very strong to continue with your quit at this time & I really admire you. I'm sure your brother does too.
Made it thru the sleepover. 10 9-year old boys. Never again! Contractor is coming by later to fix the walls. LOL.
Finally, a little freakiness for your Monday morning. My last day @ the job I held for 15 yrs was my boy's b'day - 9/28/01. Stayed home with kids for a couple of years & was hired for my next job on 9/28/04. Left there in May & guess what? Got a job on 9/28/07. My son is key in my career life! Every 3 years. I asked him what Mom is going to do when he's 12? He said he hasn't decided yet. I start next week & this will be my first job where I won't I won't have to incorporate smoking into my day. Weird!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Today is my quit day... Oct. 1, 2007

I'm hurting like h-e-l-l ..

I'm taking deep breaths and I've heard form glowbug on another site, to add walking.
I've walked twice and about to go for three.
Some of these withdraw attacks are painful.

As glowbug told, just to keep telling myself it will get better... it will never be this bad again........

I've been smoking since I was 16 yrs old... now 41. I want to throw up, is the normal?

Should Chantix be helping me a little more then it is..??

Frankie, hang in there!! Try to drink some ice water (seems to help the cravings) & like Glow said, if you have the option, do something to get your mind off of it. I slept A LOT my first week. I was also on this board pretty much all day/night whenever I wasn't sleeping.

It WILL be ok. The next few days are going to be the hardest but it passes. I'm exactly 1 month ahead of you in my quit & 1 month ago I wasn't sure I was strong enough. I wanted to scream, slam my head into a wall, anything to make the discomfort go away. But it REALLY DOES go away. For now, just take it 1 craving at a time. You'll be fine. Honest!

Hey everyone....looks like I missed a fun weekend. I had so many things to do...some fun...some not. Ok...today is 4 months for me and I felt I must talk to the guy next to my office that smokes as he was smoking outside this morning when I pulled up. He said he has tried everything and told him about Chantix and he said he had heard of it and is going to talk to his doc. I also need to think of what to buy myself for my big anniversary....my car needs 4 new tires....lol

Mel....that's great you are one month smoke free. Hate to hear the cravings are pretty strong going down to a 1/4 pill, but do whatever you have to do to stay quit. Have you tried on the dress recently?

Good Morning Everyone!
Dena....Congratulations on 4 months! Isn't it great to talk to other smokers about how easy it is to stop smoking w/ Chantix? Two people I know were waiting to hear from someone who was taking Chantix, now one is taking it and the other is going to start soon.
How are those new shoes working out for ya? I got a treadmill a few years ago, I used it faithfully for several months, but then I lost interest. It's in the garage now. The weather here should be cooling off soon, then I can walk outside without melting.

Thanks Sandy! I would post more often but, I don't want to be involved in the nastiness. I have way too much stress in my life already.
Enjoy the day! Do you have beautiful fall weather and colors? If you do, I'm jealous!

Good morning everyone.

Whew I missed some stuff this weekend. There were too many posts to read through them all (my boss would lie me to do some work sometime today ;) But I skimmed a lot of them.

Deb congrats on the new grandson.

Congratulations to everybody this weekend with your 3, 4, & 5 month quit marks.

Superwoman award to Mel for making it through 10 9 year olds without smoking!

Hope everyone has a happy smoke free day

Hey Judy...thanks on the 4 months. Shoes are still doing great...think they are keepers this time. I can't lose interest in the treadmill because there's no room in my garage...lol I waiting for good weather outside also, today is cool, but they are talking about in the 90's again this week...yuck Then winter will be here and I'll be whining.
