Agreed...but if a person is not responsible enough to even make sure they have safe sex what makes you think they would be responsible enough to raise a child?

Precisely why they should not be having sex, the one act on Earth that results in a child! It's a matter of opinions i guess, but a lack of responsibility and accountability is the reason that the US has the highest teen pregnancy rate of any industrialized nation. BTW, the outrageous teen pregnancy rate in the U.S. is thanks to none other than George W. Bush pushing abstinence only education for the last 8 years. It doesn't work. It's also the result of parents' refusal to have some very tough conversations with their daughters. It is a sad state of affairs. Sad that people who have decided to parent are shirking their responsibilities to their daughters.

Good grief. I said "abstinence only education" doesn't work. Of course abstinence itself works. But here's the thing...HUMANS ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE SEX! It's a normal, natural thing! And teens don't always use their best judgment in situations where their hormones are screaming at them...so telling them "just don't do it" DOESN'T WORK! We must educate them openly and honestly, and then give them the tools to prevent STDS and pregnancy IF they become sexually active.
