There are a lot of lazy Medicaid people. Here in Louisiana, where I work in a pharmacy, patients often walk off with $1,000 worth of medicine every month..FOR FREE. Then they call because they lost it, they tried to cut it in half and it crumbled everywhere, etc. They just expect the state to hand them over some more. If they run over their allotted 8 medications a month, they are appalled to find out how much money the medicine costs. "What? SIXTY DOLLARS?" yet they have plenty of cash to buy Cheetos, coffee drinks, tobacco, and alcohol. Disgusting.
The government needs to hold people accountable for their actions. I hate when a woman comes in with a Medicaid card and a script for prenatal vitamins. Why do I have to pay for her mistakes? I think if you have one baby and you're on Medicaid, and you get pregnant again, you need to get cut off from the system or get an abortion. These people need to keep their legs closed, we don't need any more of their type ruining our country. This only applies to the 80% of people who abuse the system. I'm sorry their 5 kids by 4 different men have ADD, but guess what? I don't like that my tax dollars go towards paying $300 a month for ONE of their kids to chill the f*ck out at school.
And I'm sorry if they don't understand that, I don't speak Ebonics so I can't explain it to them.
what your're mad because u can't have kids hater?

My daughter needs her one wisdom tooth extracted in outpatient hospital setting. She has medicaid. Last year she had 3 wisdom teeth ext at clinic in Butler which was referred by our local dentist. I questioned whether the clinic could perform the procedure and was told yes. When she was seated and IV inserted doc told us only 3 would be removed and to "come back next year." When I called ACCESS this year I was told we needed new x/ray, new preauth since old one was outdated. I spent $77 for new x/ray,$10 for medical records to submit for preauth. Still not sure if medicaid will pay. I have to find new surgeon in Erie to perform. I checked fees for out of pocket service...over $2000 to take 1 tooth out. This was supposed to be covered under medicaid last year but the clinic made an error and now my daughter has to pay. I will keep checking the progress but it is frustrating. My family is not lazy. My husband is self-employed. I became unemployed and since started back to school. I have an assoc. degree and am willing to work and go to school.
We, as a society, need to stop placing blame an shame on those who are receiving the benefits that they qualify for. I do believe each of us in society has an obligation to give back by using our skills and knowledge to organizations which need us.

Some people are on medicaid and deserve the government's help. The key word is SOME (5-10%). The remainder are just taking advantage of the system. I'm the treatment coordinator/manager at a dental office. The rate dentists are quoted by medicaid is very low, and not worth the dentists time b/c sometime they waste more money on time and equipment to treat the patient than they are getting paid for. About 99% of the patients that come to the office who are on medicaid CAN afford the dental treatment, but they just don't want to pay for it. They have iPhones, Blackberrys, jewelery, good clothes, and decent cars. They just don't want to pay for anything. Oh, they are TERRIBLE with their appointments (usually miss them), which costs the office lost time and money, and have a real bad attitude, like as if they have a right to everything. Besides, the new dentist that start to work for the office get paid very little and have $300K-400,000 in loans. You heard me right!

For the person who said that dentists should volunteer their time to help others, I wonder if you ever have volunteered your weekend after a hard weeks worth of work?

I hope you have success finding appropriate care for your daughter.

In the meantime those droolers who declare they do not want a bureaucrat between them and their doctor have apparently never had the pleasure of arguing with an Insurance Company desk-jockey over treatment for a daughter with a life-threatening illness. Go ahead...let Limbaugh and Hannity tell you what's best for you. Then you will get what you deserve....the same old same old.

Some of the highest paid doctors in Erie and the United States are Dentists. The profit off of elective surgeries such as teeth whitening and braces that mose insurance companies do not pay. Look at the homes some of these guys live in! Is it out of the question for them to donate one hour a week to volunteer at the same clinic Dr. Bukowski works in? Come on guys, give something back!
Do you have stats to back that up? Dentist don't make a whole lot of money cleaning teeth, nor are they succesful for getting money from insurance, Gov't and clients. Most of the problems that people have can be prevented by proper brushing and flosing, both of which do not take a lot of money to buy. Some how its the denist fault that people cannot properly take care of themselves.
