White House insists it was unaware of Petraeus scandal until day after election wink wink. Is there anything Obama knows. He denies knowing anything about Fast and Furious, Libya, Syria and Petraeus........he claims he knows nothing. I believe him. The leader that never leads.

Nothing except posturing will be done until the last minute, probably resulting in more damage to our economy, our bond ratings, and the general American opinion of our leadership, particularly in Congress.

McConnell, in particular, needs to go. By whatever means necessary.

Spambot's spam post of the day, I've seen it already on multiple boards where it was offtopic in every single case.

Spambot is not a human being. He's a moronically-designed internet virus infecting Topix with endless, brainless spam and random cut'n pastes.

"He" would believe anything he downloaded, and upload it again to Topix simply for the purpose of disturbing the peace.

As Illinois’ United States Representative Jesse Jackson Jr., 47, leaves Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where he has received another round of treatments for bipolar disorder on Tuesday, he is still confronted with a trail of media following his allegations of improprieties in using campaign funds to remodel his Washington, D.C. home as well as continued allegations of wrongdoing in trying to buy President Barack Obama’s senate seat in 2008.

It has been reported that Jackson has a lawyer handling negotiations with the federal government on a plea deal to settle the congressman’s alleged misuse of campaign money. The report includes word that Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. will have to resign from the United States House of Representatives and serve prison time.
A Mayor Clinic spokesperson would not say exactly when Jackson left the health facility in Minnesota but did say that Jackson’s current whereabouts are not known.
According to CBS television in Chicago and Fox News Chicago, Jackson has hired high-profile lawyer Dan Webb, a former U.S. attorney, to represent him.
Additionally, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that the investigation into Jackson’s finances is extending into an investigation of his wife, Sandi Jackson, who is a Chicago alderman in Chicago’s 7th Ward. She has been discussed in recent news stories regarding her openness about living in Washington, D.C. when Chicago aldermen are required to live in the district they represent.
As per usual, when confronted about the impending investigation of Mrs. Sandi Jackson, the Chicago alderman, Mayor Rahm Emanuel had no comment regarding the allegations against her.
Rep. Jesse Jackson is the son of the Rev. Jesse Jackson who is a civil rights leader who is known for his work with Operation PUSH on Chicago’s South Side.

As Commander In Chief, the President is at all times responsible for the proper functioning of the Chain of Command. If the Chain of Command fails, it is his failure.

You do not send civilians into a hostile area with known threats without security and an extraction plan. You do not fail to inform your superior about a hostage crisis or a terrorist attack. Under some provisions of the UCMJ (IX 913 Article 114 Misbehavior of a sentinal, IX 894 Article 94 Mutiny or Sedition, and most noteably IX 899 Article 99 Misbehavior before the enemy (particularly Paragraph 9)) in time of war these are potentially executable offenses.

If President Obama’s chain of command is not functioning, then it is his duty to purge it, both quickly and publicly. Ultimately, it’s his job to make sure there are no failures. This is the meaning of the term “Commander In Chief”.

Let the fiscal cliff happen. Defense must be cut it is full of waste and fraud. It is not real cuts anyway it is just spending less in the future not cutting defense budget. Defense budget is far far far too large anyway and needs to be cut.

Sadly, 48% were so pathetic and hopeless that they voted for 'Dick' Romney as leader!

Thank goodness their candidate failed. It was for the good of America.

They need to get it together... Someone has to lead, might as well be the guy that campaigned to be the leader.

The House and Senate Leadership need to listen and respond. Both sides need to compromise.

Arrogance isn't going to get Obama anywhere. 50.1% doesn't a mandate make in my veiw. It means half the country doesn't agree with you.
