hello to all,
I am a sutherland emplpoyee philippines based in camarinies sur, cadlan pili, bicol region.
It was all the same thing sutherlandcamsur is doing to its employees.
it is obvious that sutherland global sevices really sucks when it comes to payroll.
i myself and the whole of the employees in sutherland camsur are experiencing the same thing. SALARY DESPUTES AND OVERTIME DESPUTES AND MANY OTHER THINGS LIKE BENEFITS NOT GIVEN UNTIL NOW AND ALSO BONUSES AND UNTIL NOW FOR THE FIFTH MONTH OF ITS OPERATION IN CAMSUR, AND FOR THE FIFTH TIME OF HANDLING THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE THEY HAVENT DOME ANYTHING YET.
SUTHERLAND IS A CRAP..... YOU KNOW PLEASE DONT WORK WITH SUTHERLAND I TELL YOU EARLY FR YOU NOT TO BLAME AT THE END.
I HAVE WORKED WITH SUTHERLAND AND THE SAME THING WITH ITS CUSTOMERS. CUSTOMERS HAVE NOTHING TO SAY EXCEPT TO COMPLAIN EVERYDAY WITH SUTHERLANDS POOR AND SYNDICATED SERVICES.
THEY KEEP ON CHARGING THEIR CUSTOMERS WITHOUT THERE CUSTOMER AUTHORIZING IT.
LETTING THEM FORCEFULLY AGREE WITH THE END USERS LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR THE REASON THAT THEIR SUBSCRIPTION WONT GET THROUGH, THATS WHY AGREEING TO THE END USERS LISENCE AGREEMENT AUTOMATICALLY RENEWS THIR SUBS AND AUTOMATICALLY CHARGES THEM, THAT IS 98% OF THE CALLS I AM RECIEVING EBERYDAY. AH AH AH, YOU CAN ASK SOME OF YOUR FRIENDS HAVING THIS MCAFEE SUBSCRIPTION., IT IS ONE OF THE LONGEST ACCOUNT WITH SUTHERLAND. YEEAAH IT IS MCAFEEE ACCOUNT.
ANYWAY IAM STILL FILIN A CASE AGAINST THIS COMAPNY FOR NOT PAYING ME THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF MY D\SALARY THAT I RDESERVE, AND LIKEWISE ACCUSE THEM OF CHEATING ME AND TO FILE SOMNE DAMAGES TOO AND THAT IS NOT ONLY ME BUT FOR THE WHOLE PEOPLE WORKING WITH SUTHERLAND.

Yeah, that is the truth, aside from having people who are not really trained for payroll. They have a way of placing problems under the rug. There are some people who try to make sure employees get the right pay but these people resign when they can no lobger fight the uphill battle.As for their foundation training. They do not have much of core skills training but rather concentrate of english grammar. I heard that their Training Manager (some guy named Batri, Butri or such)is the culprit for this because he doesn't really know much but is a great politician. He forces his trainers to pass people by editing their final scores to meet metrics and that most of their trainers are uncertified. This coming from of his trainers who were venting while on break.I heard they do TESDA don't know what it is but that they manipulate that program too to make it seem that they program meets expectations. Sutherland has indeed performed exceedingly well over the past decade and has maintained its image of being a world leader in providing BPO services by following international BPO standards. Unfortunately, a lot of false and partially true accounts are being written by Sutherland's ex- employees and current employees.

I read: "More than a dozen current and former workers told The Star that seven months after Sutherland opened, employees have been quitting or are being fired in large numbers."

The attrition rate is pretty high in the BPO industry worldwide. The attrition rate in US alone is about 42% and in India it's 18%. As per the Nasscom Strategic Review 2005 the attrition rate in BPOs is 25-40 per cent. So, why is Sutherland being scorned? In fact, a lot many companies report to hire 60% new workforce every year. Whenever people leave Sutherland, more people are willing to join it because they know Sutherland treats its people fairly. How on earth can a company have a workforce of about 18000 people unless most of them were happy, if not all?

I also read: "I am not afraid to say that Sutherland is indeed a miserable place to work, managed by incompetent people under the leadership of an even more incompetent senior staff. And that is not media fabrication or exaggeration, but purely fact."

I am working with Sutherland and I agree there is scope for improvement as far as the working conditions is concerned, but saying that the working conditions are pathetic is out rightly untrue. How can a company become a global leader unless their people are performing well? And people can perform well only when working conditions are fine. The fact that companies like Hewlett and Packard, Dell, AT&T, etc. are clients of Sutherland Global Services speak volumes about the international standards that are followed by Sutherland people. Furthermore, this can happen only with the vision and guidance of well-qualified, competent and efficient managers. A place managed by incompetent people does not get to work with global clients. For everyone's knowledge, Sutherland Global Services will now be providing data management services to Deutsche Bank.

Next, discussing the most talked about location Sutherland Windsor Canada -- this location was the company's fourth Canadian expansion, after successful Operations Centers in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and one in Vernon, British Columbia. It was a blessing for people of Windsor and economically depressed region. The government was keen to have more centers by Sutherland Global Services because the company played a key role in transforming the lives of the people of Windsor Canada. If the people were not happy in other centers why was government so eager to have more centers?

This is what they said: ""This is great news for Windsor and this entire region," said Duncan.
"This technical support centre is the result of our government's aggressive efforts to bring good jobs and more opportunity to workers and families in this community. We're helping diversify Windsor's local economy and promoteour strong, skilled workforce."

I would also like to add that current employees of Sutherland cribbing about various issues like working conditions or repetitive tasks can go home and relax. It's crazy to read the "expert comments" of this bunch of people on various sites. Sutherland came into existence in the year 1986 and it has offered world-class BPO services to global clients. How can a company survive for so long when all of its employees are unhappy and all its delivery centers across the globe are least bothered about its people's welfare? Most claims and allegations are nothing but a scheme to malign the reputation of Sutherland Global Services.

This is only a step in the right direction. All expatriate Tamils and their supporters need to do a lot of ground work to make sure something actionable comes out of this.

Well, I have just found out that there is another lawsuit being filed as we speak against them for misclasssing the classification of their salaried employees.

I guess they have classed all salary employees as exempt, and a good portion of them should be non-exempt. This means that they owe anyone who was misclassed 1 1/2 times their rate for any OT worked in the last 6 years.

Add to this that they will be made to pay out 2-3 times this amount to all employees and it's going to add up to a few million more dollars.

I have heard that they have taken care of some current employees and are keeping it quiet unless you go to them and request them to investigate.

It's really not looking too good for Sutherland at the moment.

As far as going public, I have very good inside information that it won't be anytime in the near future, so don't hold your breath.

sutherland isnt worthworking place, many employees working there are going through great amount of stress, dangling betwwen politics of tls sups and irritated and disgusting behave of customers, poor salary system, no benefits, pressure of sales without any appreciation, God bless workers of Sutherland

Well, I'm a former sutherlander, GLAD AND HAPPY AS HELL ABOUT IT!!!I first joined the company on october 2005 and was forced to resign on feb-08. Because of racial discrimination . Let me give you a brief outline as to what happened. Womanizers, drunks and drug abusers were the top notch of this so called good company. But that was alrite. I've been with such bunch during college. So its tolerable. But then to have it happen at work and see people get promoted cause they were really good at pimping and getting people stash and also the women that were easy or just didn't mind [email protected] to get their way to top, Well people this is the company that you want to be in. Its not only the men that are like that its the women in the top management position as well. I know the so called HP process all too well. The first person that i met after joining this company was from that process and he walked around like he was MR MILLIONAIRE, and he would boast about the women that he had in his house every weekend. He'd say that almost every new recruit that was a woman was in his bed cuz he was a manager. Same was said by the female TL's on the floor. Well these are just few of the things that happen in this Glorious company. My personal experience with the company was to just do my job, audit calls for the day, pick up my sal, wait for the time to pass, and GET OUT !!!. When the time came i was asked to quit since one of my NAM colleagues received my personal mail by mistake and she did her job by escalatin it to PM and PM marked BCC to HR head in India as well as US, I was literally fired, but im telling you that if I would have been in US rather than getting fired or forced to quit I could have got a verbal warning & feedback to be careful next time, Inspite of being tenured agent they fired me just because this concern was raised in US against an indian employee, seriously being from india if I would have raised this concern against an US employee he would have never been fired. It wasn't easy to get job as my job profile stated that i worked at Suth. The number of interviews that i had gone to before landing this one, lets say is a lot. I know some of the guys who have posted up here. No they aren't stating something that's outrageous. This is just the plain truth. Believe it when I say that there is a lady who got promoted to a Group Leader cause she was and still is [email protected] a couple of managers in her process. The woman doesn't even know how to calculate attrition, she's got no TECH knowledge but is in charge of a tech process. Some of the people who worked with her in her previous company always say that she's a wh@$e and has slept with many people. How far this goes I have no idea. A friend of mine who unfortunately still works for the same company tells me that she gets sexually harassed by her program manager, who has in more than one time asked her directly to come over to his guest house to have sex with him. There were also rumors that a few people got fired cause they refused to sleep with other managers and TL's. My suggetion is For those of you who are still with the same company. Please search for another job ASAP and GET OUT OF THE COMPANY. The current management doesn't manage, ITS WHORING THE COMPANY. GET RID OF ALL THE MANAGERS AND RE-STRUCTURE THE COMPANY IF YOU WANT TO SEE IT SURVIVE.

Hi , i am a ex employee of sutherland , i had paid my all dues and everything is clear and now i am requesting a letter from the company since past 1 and 1/2 month and people are just passing the ball to somone else no one is either reply the mails nor are they picking up the phone , it seems that there is not ethic or this company.

It is just intrested in employing women who can sleep with manager and get to top that is what even i have experinced it they do not appreciate great ideas but do appreciate great women ...

It is just a digusting company that u cannot even think of and i wonder how Govement of any company allows them to do business.

I work at Sutherland. I see the stresses and issues that arise everyday. Now while with any company not all of the employees are not ideal. There are many bright and intelligent people that work for sutherland. The people who work there and have been at this company for over six months( a vetran) which is sad in the least that a person holding a job with this company for over six months is considered a vetran. The people who work there deserve better. There are many empty and broken promises. Rules and plans change monthly, metrics to get paid harder and harder. There is no need to insult anyone that works for this company as contrary to what some might believe there are many many intelligent people who work for this company. Many people with degrees in areas where the job market is tight. So before passing judgment on anyone know that there are thousands and thousands of people that work for Sutherland, and based on the comments of twenty people, noone has the right to pass judgement on the dedicated that do work for this place!

As a former Sutherland employee I unfortunately have to agree that working conditions at Sutherland are poor, some levels of management are clearly incompetent and working conditions for many employees are poor.
Consider receiving email from your MANAGER that is saturated with misstatements, misspellings and grammatical errors.
Consider having a manager who criticizes an employee in a conversation with the employee’s peer within earshot of the entire ‘team’.
Consider having a MANAGER who formally schedules a meeting with you, then does not show up, cancel the meeting or explain his behavior.
Consider having to participate in a ‘training’ session in a parking lot at dusk.
Consider being criticized because you took longer than 6 minutes to go to the bathroom and return to your desk.(The employee was back in 9 minutes)
Consider having to ASK if you can take a break during your shift and having that request denied.
Consider being responsible for performing Vista support based on 4 hours of training mostly consisting of watching the ‘trainer’ install the operating system.
Consider being advised and having your performance reviewed by a peer who is several steps below you in the ‘team’ stack rankings.
Consider having to work at a at a desk where the keyboard, phone and desk are visibly dirty and management’s response to complaints is sending email telling ‘team’ members to clean up after themselves. You can imagine how effective that solution was..
I could go on but I’d rather spend my time enjoying life after Sutherland.

i am working in sutherland from past 2 1/2 years...and it sucks.

A : I didn't had any other option.

First 1 year they take care of their employee like baby...and then as the day passes by, they start showing their true color, they try to take advantage of the employee....Especially for Girls (Its really not a good company), they understand that the employee is needy and then they play with him.

About salary....it really sucks. USD 500 or you can say Rs. 20,000 a month (which i am getting). I believe a begger can earn more than that in America.

About Managers : They are seriously useless, worthless. They even don't know how to speak in english, some of them stammer. I don't understand what on earth they are doing. They have been trained how to do politics with employees...in my tenurity i have seen every month guys joins company and next month double the quantiy leave because of the pathetic management.

Recently they have changed Yearly growth plan....they have done it in such a wicked way that no body could actually understand it how that will effect in their currer in sutherland.(just to save money) and when the promotion time comes they say COMPANY IS NOT DOING WELL (its very common dialog).

Well i was not leaving the company coz i thought i don't have any option but i came to know that there are 1000's of good companies, I will be leaving sutherland next month.

PLEASE DON'T ADVICE ANYONE TO JOIN SUTHERLAND. Well, you can understand that nobody has free time to write these comments, i have suffered a lot and hence i am putting my comments here.

I know, now some chut manager will comment on it, because he will be asked to do so....belive me even managers are not happy, but they have to do it.

Dilip Velodi (CEO) you are such a bastard, because its all your game plan. You will never be happy in your life, though you will have lots of money.

If someone is there who wants to destroy sutherland global services....i am with him. Ask me what all details you want.

I have wokred from the company when it first launched and have seen so much about this company. They make so many promises that are broken. I was one of 3 employees hired and worked 16 hour days and no one appreciated anything. Instead they always tried to pin mistakes on me when somethign went wrong. Also everything that was said in this paragraph about Sutherland by this guy that wored there is all true. He is not makingany of it up because the same stuff is going on in WIndsor. You alwasy have ppl tying to defend the company but this is al true. They say how canther be 18,000 ppl employed a suth if its not a good place to work...Il tell you how..In windsor there are no jobs and ppl are desperate for a pay cheque even if its so low so that is how they have so many ppl always applying.....im sure they have other areas with ppl applying becaseu they also need a job and sutherland will hie anyone they have no standars what so ever. They hire ppl who have subsidies because the govt pays them 65 percent of the ees pay...in return so if they as you if you have a traget wage subsidy this is why they are asking and in return they say they will train you but that is bull they dont train you all hey do is put you down all the time. This is the worst company you can ever work for. I have wokred inthe office and i know soo much sutff about htis comany and how they work...you dont want to work fot them but if you do you wil see for your self and quite im sure. 100 percent sure so save ur self the headakes. YOu go there and feel liek crap because of how your alwasy put down. I hope these comments will help you all decide not to work for them.

I don't know what your all bitching about, I've been working for them with the ATT division for 2 1/2 months now and I've already gotten promoted twice.

Its working great for me and my paychecks are always in line.

To confirm, I've seen alot of lazy, ungrateful, and uncaring employees at sutherland.

Sutherland hires alot of riff-raff to meet a quota for each client it offers services to. This must be the place the riff-raff go when the wheat is seperated from the chaff.

So sorry you sucked at your job and were dismissed, McDonalds maybe?
