KSPR has learned a U.S. Navy sailor from Seymour, Missouri charged with child abuse in connection to the death of a four-month-old Virginia girl, has withdrawn his request for bond and will remain behind bars.

Grand Jury Returns 106 Indictments: Man Now Facing Capital Murder Charges in Killing of Infant

Harvey L. Bryant, Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Virginia Beach, announced that a grand jury meeting in Virginia Beach Circuit Court today returned indictments against 96 individuals charging 253 separate offenses.

Micah Patterson, age 22, of the 1100 block of Ocean Trace Lane in Virginia Beach, Virginia, was indicted for Capital Murder – Sexual Assault and Capital Murder – Killing of a Person Under age 14 by a Person 21 or Older. Patterson also faces charges of Second Degree Murder, Object Sexual Penetration, and Child Abuse. All charges stem from the death of a 4-month-old infant on January 10, 2012.
