From the article:

----------

" ... Despite the gravity of the problem, there is no reliable estimate of the scope or prevalence of commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking of minors, the report says ... "

----------

So there's this BIG problem, yet there's no reliable way to even estimate if it's a big problem or not.

I agree that there's a problem with this activity ... and I also think that there's a big problem with this article and the report it discusses. Gads! What are academics coming to these days!

The question needs to be asked. Why are there homeless and impoverished teens supporting themselves with prostitution?

Sounds like Russia.

Child labor laws prevent them from being hired legally in a real job which leaves selling drugs, stealing and prostitution as the only way for them to feed themselves. Once again we have our government to thank for passing laws that cause these problems.

The emphasis in that question should be upon teen and homeless.

Doesn't stop the illegal immigrants from setting up lives.

The problem is with the causes of the homelessness in the first place AND predators, both hetero and gay, that will take advantage of their need.
