What part of this article indicates there was any sort of "standoff"? NBC - do you read what you write before you click, "publish"?

"Lt. David Wells, with the Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office, says that once on scene the man was located, found to be unarmed, and rapidly detained without incident."

Nothing in that statement, or anywhere in the article for that matter, speaks to a standoff.

NBC29 making something out of nothing... Par for the course!-smh-

"Police were involved in a brief standoff Tuesday night at a home in Lake Monticello."
"Fluvanna sheriff's deputies, Lake Monticello police and the state police responded to a home on Mulligan Drive for a call of a domestic assault and possible barricaded armed subject who may have taken his wife hostage."
It was probably 'brief' because they waited until all police were on the scene, and it was likely the nearby Lake Monticello "police" who stood off until the real police arrived. The call, as the new article stated, indicated a 'possible' armed subject, hostage situation, and so they didn't rush right in. Precautions were taken, and NBC29 just reported the facts whether you like them or not.

Wrong - NBC29, as they normally do, report disillusioned facts that they wish were true. A standoff doesn't mean one stands by around the corner. Rather, it is when the police try to coax an alleged offender out of hiding, and the offender refuses. That is a standoff... Doesn't anyone watch Law and Order anymore?! And if it were really an assault in progress, I doubt any cop in their right mind would have "stood by" - they have a duty to act and report posthaste to violent encounters such as the one reported here.

The way I see it, the only facts are: law enforcement was called to a house, they found the alleged offender, they took said offender into custody... No standoff - that's it!

All that being said, I do not hold it against NBC29 as I've come to expect this type of haphazard reporting...

Go to the physic unit for a few days for a vacation, get away from it all. You should have stay with here and this would not have happened.
