Are the bishops still so befuddled by what to do in the event of child abuse?
The answer is simple:
First, call the police and report it. A crime has been committed.
Second, call your lawyer. He will guide you through the legal process.
Third, call your insurance company. They will hear about it sooner or later. Sooner is better.
Fourth, Cooperate and tell the truth.
Fifth, deal with the criminal with God's word. If he repents, forgive him. If he does not, excommunicate him.
Sixth, make sure the criminal is not eligible for any aspect of the ministry of the church.
Seventh, tell Rome.
The bishops can only be meeting to still find a way around this obvious process. Consequently, they are not living up to their responsibility as leaders in the church of Jesus Christ and are not worthy of their high office and should be sued, removed from office, and publicly shamed.
