I understand that next month they're taking on the issue of Earth: Round or Flat? It's not cut and dried as one might think. Unfortunately, they have witnesses that have watched boats sail off into the Gulf of Mexico, only to disappear from view when they reach the edge and, apparently, fall off. Further, since it is illegal in Alabama schools to teach science, or any other subject that conflicts with the Bible, there are no textbooks that can be entered into evidence to support the anti-religious, non-flat argument.
But, to be fair, Alabamaites (Copyright, me) aren't Totally down on science. The governor has commissioned a new study titled: "Homos—Yes, They're Flamers, but Are They Actually Flammable?"
Now THAT is an incendiary comment!

Bravo

Well, sadly, any idiot can get appointed or elected to be a state's attorney general. That doesn't mean they have a clue about the law.
Of course, any attorney with a functioning brain should be smart enough to know that anti-sodomy laws have all been thrown out YEARS ago, but honestly, there are other reasons an attorney general might still decide to prosecute someone under a law that they know full well can't be enforced. Grandstanding, fundraising, abuse-of-power, abuse-of-office, political favors, arrogance, pettiness, political ambitions... LOADS of reasons.
That's one of the many flaws in our otherwise perfect system.
brilliant funny and touching.

There is no excuse for not knowing better. Virginia's previous AG tried something quite similar two years ago and failed. But one thing they have proved is that conservatives are ALWAYS willing to waste the taxpayers money. What they won't do is spend money on worthwhile projects.
You make a good point.

Just the other day I saw a political cartoon. On one side was the money spent on the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and on the other was the crumbling bridges here at home.

Oh, I agree! And I don't for one second believe that this AG is unaware. I just think he's got a political motive that supersedes his oath of office.(which, of course, there's ALSO no excuse for, but that's another issue....)

Since Alabama is the topic for the day, here's a question: If a married couple in Alabama gets a divorce, are they still brother and sister?

Nope, they become kissing cousins. Silly man.
