It seems to be somewhat of a delicate topic, but unfortunately Israel's role in the Madoff affair should definitely be part of unravelling the whole story here. Chais seems to be the most obvious conduit of the feeders, but how much more of Bernie's as yet unfound riches were stashed somewhere in Israel? What was the net gain for Israeli interests from the Madoff Ponzi? Can a country be subject to clawback?

Maurice Cohn conned my now 98 year old father-in-law into investing all of his life's savings into COHMAD in 1987, all SIPC insured & SEC regulated Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities accounts, i.e., individual and family trust accounts.

We have the ORIGINAL signed Cohn correspondense that should help put him & his ilk behind bars for decades!

In the meantime, where is SIPC with regard to their statutory obligation to pay the victims? Reportedly, they have invented a NEW "net equity" formula so they may avoid payment while, at the same time, their broker dealer members have earned HUNDREDS OF $BILLIONS off of the customer securities put in Street Name as an exchange for the original creation of SIPC in 1970 for indemnifying any real or fictitious losses and such acceptance by the investing public.

And as for the SEC, Mal, Mis & Non Feasance is their mantra when it comes to Madoff. The commercial banks, & AIG, voluntarily lose $TRILLIONS and are bailed out by the US Treasure & the PRIVATE Federal Reserve, yet not a Farthing for the Madoff victims due to SEC [& FINRA] gross negligence.

Yes, they should all be held accountable for the role they played in this.
