Sounds like Comptroller Dan Hynes' office dropped the ball on this one. Too bad nobody in that office knows how to conduct a thorough audit. Red flags all over the place yet only the bare minimum of audit work was done (if even that). Another fine example of an expensive Illinois constitutional office that does nothing for the average person. It's time to throw Dan Hynes out of office!

I cannot understand how 300 bereaved people could PAY CASH for a burial plot to begin with.

1. How did the scumbaggy manager present such a incredulous proposition?

2. Did the 300 who paid cash somehow obtain a benefit by doing so?

Why is this not covered in any story about this scam.
If the cash payers expected or received any benfit for doing so they are as liable as the owners or the managers.

So stateo officials and departments knew about the problems there for literally YEARS. According to a recent article, Alsip POLICE knew about bones lying around 5 YEARS ago. And just NOW is the finger pointing starting? "record keeping is atrocious" but two different departments of Cook County bureaucracy keep separate records of burials and deaths?

Just why exactly do we pay all these licenses and fees to these departments and governments if this is what we get?

Well of course their financial records are shoddy. The owner lives out of town. There's no outside regulation to speak of. A mini-gang of absolute weinies are running the day-to-day cemetary operation, digging up corpses and tossing them in a corner with bashed headstones and trash. If they'd do that I doubt meticulous financial bookeeping was a priority.

Wow i cant belive someone would do that thats really sad omg but then again thier workers and who knows really what goes on inside a cemetary and or funneral home.. Once i knew this guy and he told me that when family leaves and such that they take the jewlery, rings and necklaces and stuff and stuff animals and flowers off of the people being buried and i know alot of you's would not belive it cuz our minds wont lead us in that direction but really i think he was telling me that truth. Noone ever really thinks nor have the money to see if they can dig up the body and see if the rings and suff are still there....until that day we shall find out!!!!

One more thing what in the hell happend to the remains of these people wasnt someone acually thinking or watching these people? and the drunk man that lives accross the street if you see digging in the middle of the night i dought if they did it in the damn day time why wouldent you call police what did he think they were cleaning in the freakin dark in a freakin cemetary? come on dude wtf is wrong with this picture... Although chicago is known for dragging thier freakin feet at murders and robbers and druggs while out with the young gangerbangers chit chatting being thier friends and dealing right along with them and being active gangbangers themself they need to do thier job and the sagents or someone needs to check out these people who get hired as police officers to run info on these men and woman, havent anyone noticed that all the good cops who have nothing to do with gangs and such are the first victoms and not the active ones?
