Senator. My mother worked very very hard her whole life. And she never made $500,000/year doing what appears to be a part-time job she obtained solely due to her husband's surname. Tens of thousands of CT mothers are going to bed tonight not knowing how they are going to pay the rent or the mortgage or the light bill. Maybe if you had done your job in the Senate they wouldn't have this problem, Senator. They wish the worst thing they had to worry about was some political flack from the likes of Chris Healy. Quit playing victim. Neither you or the Mrs. deserve the title.

If she wasn't married to a Senator, a former staffer to the banking committee and top executive of the import-export bank would be making millions on corporate boards and no one would even blink. And Chris Healy knows it. His whole bike ride home.

It's most telling that the senator finds it necessary to promote and defend his wife's credentials, since they clearly cannot speak for themselves. "Yes, I have made mistakes, but I have been open and honest about them and I have been working hard to get Connecticut and America's economy back on track." Really, Senator? Really? How long did you stonewall on the question of your sweetheart mortgage deals? Apparently you define openness and honesty differently from your constituents. "In fact, we are just days away from winning the fight I have led to crack down on the credit card companies and their abusive practices against consumers." But you carefully avoid mentioning the mortgage debacle you helped to create. Senator Dodd, do us all a favor and decline to run for re-election in 2010. You'll save the citizens of Connecticut the trouble of having to vote for not-Dodd and yourself the embarrassment of a landslide defeat. Just go away.

Although I do not support Dodd, I do have to say that he is correct. You don't bash people's family. His wife sounds like she has all the qualifications to earn the income that she does. The way I see it, the "outrage" over her income is pure envy. People need to stop being envious of those who make good money. It's not a good lifestyle.

However, as for the comments "Tens of thousands of CT mothers are going to bed tonight not knowing how they are going to pay the rent or the mortgage or the light bill." This problem would be around regardless of woh's in office. The majority of peoples' problem are self created. Be it from being irresponsible, lazy, etc, What's his wife to do, not work? Give all of her money away?

Chris, "The people of Connecticut deserve the respect of being presented the truth rather than unchecked partisan rhetoric. Yes, I have made mistakes, but I have been open and honest about them." You're kidding, right? We're still waiting for those Countrywide documents - I think it's been a year now. How stupid do you think we are? What about Jackie's ties to AIG? http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2009/mar/se... If Jackie consulted with outside ethics advisers, I would assume she received written opinions to protect herself. Instead of writing editorials that no one believes at this point, why don't you release those written statements. Of, if she was foolish enough to take strictly verbal advice in this important area, go back and ask them for statements now. You have been caught lying. You have dissembled and procrastinated regarding your mortgage deal, apparently hoping the voters would forget. Now you are once again lying about your truthfulness and openness. You are also lying about working hard for the American people. I contact your office on a regular basis and have NEVER received even a courtesy reply. You offer arguments and false promises to be accountable. The only thing you haven't offered is proof that what you say is true. We're not buying it.

Jackie worked for a Republican senator as an associate on the Senate Appropriations Committee, If she was smart enough to work for a Republican then why did she marry a useless Democrat.

President Obama could have chosen to work at Fortune 500 companies or Wall Street law firms, but decided he would make less money helping the public (I'm not sure he did, but I give him credit for trying). Ms. Dodd just decided to cash in. She's used her talents only to enrich herself. She's a lot more like Leona Helmsley than Mother Teresa

You, my friends, Mr. and Mrs. Dodd are pathological liars and narcisists who wouldn't tell, see or know the truth if you were smacked in the heads with it. Put a fork in you...YOU'RE DONE!11

" I have been honest about them" Chris Dodd. "I have no more territorial desires in Europe' Adolph Hitler. "I am not a crook"Richard Nixon. Oh well you get the picture, the bigger the liar, the bigger the lie.

"Yes, I have made mistakes, but I have been open and honest about them" How about being open about those sweetheard mortgages you promised to release the details on a year ago? Care to wager on Clegg Dodd having that job the month after you lose your re-election bid?
