Laurelville cops under fire for being too strict

May 26, 2013 Full story: The Columbus Dispatch 19

What Bobby doesn't live in village?
That's old news he lives on Tarlton Adelphi
in a farmhouse his second wife's family owns and
has for years .. But has no PROBLEM raising his right hand and swearing he also lives on Maple St where he has not for years...
Bet he went to church this morning.

No wonder people around here used to drink so much 'shine.

Sounds like they violated Ohio law with the "PRIVATE" council meeting. Unless the meeting was open to the public and then went into executive session to discuss specific personnel issues.
Beside that if the police are jist behaving like tax collectors / toll booth operators then the village will have the reputation of the now disbanded New Rome. It is one thing to have a cop or too to keep an eye on things but not to issue tickets like receipts at a toll both or parking garage.

New Rome had nothing but a Corrupt Mayor who's cousin towed all the cars the police pulled over.
THOUSANDS of DOLLARS went missing every month.
Ther is a diference in being CORRUPT and it ENFORCING the LAW which ENFORCEMENT of the law has never taken place in the village unless it was okay with Bobby Bowers and before him Bob West who was sued over and over but that never made the news it was kept quiet.

It's called 'executive session' dipshit and it is LEGAL.Streets are becoming cleaner, the town quieter, and hooray for the POLICE FORCE. They are doing a great job.If YOU are not a criminal then you should feel fine with the Police .This town has been in the shitter far too long and the clean up was long over due.

Bob hill has no room to talk. Crooked as hell. Ripping people off. Fixing stuff that don't need fixed. Lying about replacing parts that he didn't. Charging too much. Not to mention his pot selling enterprise. Do you still have that indoor grow? Or is it at the neighbors house? Consumer 10 or Six on your side should send BOB HILL in on a job and see how he rips people off. Then everyone will know how dishonest he really is. Two BOBS in a pod. Bowers Hill.

EXECUTIVE SESSION can only be used to discuss a personnel matter involving a specific employee.
Regarding hiring, firing, or discipilne any thing else is a CLEAR violation of the state law and punisable by fine upon each and every person particpating. In Laurelville by now they would owe thousands each. Yet the people who live there let them get by with it.
As much as they have Executive Sessions you would think they employed 10,000 people with 50,000 problems and had a turnover of 110%

The article says private meeting not executive session. Many villages and boards fail to properly go into executive session, but hey why let something like the Ohio revised code stand in the way of collecting tolls.

Cleaning up the town is good. Creating a New Rome speed trap is not. Going 45 in a 25 is not harmful, stealing someones air conditioner for the metals is.

Given your inability to tell the difference tells me you are a parasite.

I normally visit Hocking Hills 2-4 times per year and my usual route is 180 an through Laurelville. As long as this debate is going on, I will look for another route or avoid the Hills all together. I'm not going to be the victim of an over zealous cop on an ego trip. I already have to deal with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and their dickit or ticket policy.

Wow, there are some very nasty people here! Whoever "bee bop" is, they should be ashamed of themselves. Anyone who is that disrespectful has no business representing our town in any public forum like this! How nasty! Our police officers have been so kind and polite every time I have seen them! Shame on you.

Fasten your seat belt, drive at the limit or just under, and you'll be fine. If you also fix that busted tail light.
