You don't know that. You just don't want to consider anything that rings of gun control. Unfortunately for you, the snowball is coming down the hill and growing in size as we speak.

This is want "Back Ground Checks" will create, background checks is for the federal government to maintain a gun registry. In my view, maintaining a federal gun registry raises very serious constitutional concerns. It is not consistent with the 2nd Amendment, and it has historically been the predicate for gun taxation, gun regulation, and ultimately gun confiscation." Which is what idiot obama wants. If some one that is going to commit a crime do you really believe that he or she is going to try and buy a gun legally and leave a paper trail to be followed, if you do you are as stupid as our Law Makers are. If a individual buy's a weapon and commits a crime, no one should be held responsible except the individual that commits that crime, other than that,if the individual that is going to commit the crime tells some one, and that some later on reveals they new what was going to happen they should be held responsible for not reporting it.
ARE either of you now trying to ban pocket
knifes ? or advocate for back ground checks for knife carriers?

26 people killed by one man with an assault weapon and a high capacity magazine vs 14 people injured by a knife-wielding maniac. Of course, FastFred sees no difference between the two. Fortunately, FastFred is in the minority and the rest of us will move ahead with stricter gun control measures anyway.

You wouldn't have to have a high capacity magazine to commit such a heinous crime, there are many gun options that can cause the same damage. It's geniuses like you that believe that this type of legislation will actually help gun violence. If these measures pass the only thing criminals are going to do is laugh at people like you that are in favor of disarming law abiding citizens, it makes law abiding citizens easier pray for the criminals.

There is nothing that gives idiots a greater sense of defense than a gun and they never have them cocked, loaded and ready to shoot when a killer puts their gun to their head and says 'give me all of your money. So much for guns.

There have been 2000+ killings by guns so far this year. If guns are such a great defensive item, how did this happen? It's obvious that law abiding innocent people can't defend themselves against criminals and the insane even though millions of them have guns, so trying to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the insane sounds like a better approach.

A good approach would to be follow the laws on the books which is not happening and is a know fact, the other good idea would be stiffer sentences that are carried out with out fail.Automatic "Death Sentence" for any one that takes a life of another during a crime, there's plenty of ways to put a halt to it,it is just not being enforced.

Yes, we always have to strive for better enforcement. We already have more people in jail than the next several countries combined and still have the highest death rate due to guns. Obviously stricter punishments are not the end all. You and I both know that lots of criminals are not fazed by laws so anything we can do to help keep guns out of their hands could be of benefit to law abiding citizens who are always the victims of crime.

Firearms are used between 1.5 and 2 Million times a year in the US to prevent, thwart, and stop crimes. The low end studies conducted by teh FBI put the number close to 1.5 million, while high-end is a little over 2.2 Million times a year.

That's a lot of defensive use. When more people than 2 Million get killed every year, then get back to us. Guns aren't going anywhere. More than 100,000,000 have been sold in just the last decade and the numbers have been rising every year.

"You just verified what I am saying" no new gun Laws will deter criminals" they don't follow the Laws!!!!"

Do you know that only 40% of gun show transactions include a background check and that many of those purchases get into the hands of criminals. One aspect of the proposed new gun control legislation is a mandatory background check--including all gun show transactions. If enacted, every purchaser of a gun at a gun show will have to go through a background check. If you were a felon and knew that you would have to get a background check before you could buy a gun, I doubt that you would attempt to buy one at a gun show. Nothing is 100% but this has to be a deterrent for lots of guns getting into the hands of criminals even though it will have no affect on the right of honest citizens from purchasing a gun.

.
It will, this is how it starts "REGISTRATION AND Confiscation" And, will do absolutely nothing stop criminals from getting the weapons of there choice. Just like the miss guided Law in N.Y. that was just passed, they thought this individual had mental problems, sent the cops to confiscate his weapons, he took them to Court and got his weapons back. Even the County Clerk there stated what a mess and the Law should be done away with.

The answer is to include ANY gun manufactuer in litagation with any gun related death or injury. Secondly the distributor or gun dealer will be included where that evidence can be traced. This would put the responsibility on the people pushing gun sales to make damm sure who they sell these arms to all the way from the factory to the end user. So if someone in Bumfuct, Al was killed with a Smith & Wesson, let S&W PROVE why that weapon got through their dealers into a person not capable of being a responsible gun totin' person and let them show why they cannot be held PARTIALLY responsible.
This is probably the stupidest post you have ever posted. SURE...Let S&W prove how some one stole a Law abiding citizens gun and how it was used in a crime, you would make a great Democrat Politician, completely brainless.

Go to the "DRUDGE REPORT" for 2013 scroll down a bit and watch a video on Gun Confiscation in California, it will show you how stupid people are, this individual is getting people to sign a petition to do away with law abiding citizens guns and allowing the law breakers to keep there's, and he is stating this, and doing away with the second Amendment. Americans are to lazy and have become absolutely brain dead in the matter of politics, no attention is being paid to what is really going on in our Country. "It's sad" !

You are the perfect example. All you know is what Drudge and Rush Limpbone feeds you. Hardly any reality coming out of their mouths.

You need to get on the "Band Wagon" and Ban Bomb making now, make sure all books are taken out of the Library's and any other place that has a book on the subject, but than again...Law abiding citizens don't participate in Bomb making,so this will do about as much good as new Gun Laws.
