Hell he's only been dealing for the past six years that I know of. Wow it took a damn judge to be dead, for the democratic controlled area justice system to do something. I'm really truely surprised something is being done. Unless the sheriff of Pike county is pressuring the feds to do something.

Cook, 43, of Belleville, is a former assistant public defender who practiced for a while in his father's firm and was elected associate judge in the 20th Circuit, which includes St. Clair County, in 2007. He was appointed to fill a vacancy as full circuit judge in 2010 and elected as a Democrat to a six-year term later that year.
His duties included oversight of a special court, managed by the state's attorney's office, for minor-level drug cases.

Before becoming a judge, Cook practiced law with his father, Bruce Cook, at the Belleville law firm of Cook, Ysursa, Bartholomew, Brauer & Shevlin. He also previously served as an assistant public defender.
There are suspicions that judge, and former practicing attorney, Michael Cook is a cocaine and/or heroin addict.

One of the dirty little secrets of that sleazy mafia whose members like to refer to themselves as the legal profession is that members of the legal profession, in other words lawyers and judges, have far and away the highest rates of alcoholism and drug abuse - and also of suicide, divorce, and domestic violence - of any major profession.

Also, a lot of the lawyers who are alcoholics and/or drug addicts became such while in law school.(NOTE: So if you want your children to become alcoholics and/or drug addicts and your future grandchildren to be raised by creatures who are alcoholics and/or drug addicts, then spend the money to send your children to law school.)

Anyway, if Michael Cook is a drug addict, when did he become such??? Was it while in law school??? Was it while working for a law firm shortly after graduating from law school??? Was it while a judge, and if so did any of the lawyers coming before him bribe him by offering him illegal drugs?

If he was a drug addict while working as a lawyer in private practice, did he finance his expenditures on illegal drugs by embezzling money from clients and former clients and/or by getting extremely "creative" in the number of hours he charged clients in his billing statements???

(NOTE: Even lawyers who are not drug addicts usually are so extremely creative in their billing statements, that they make the lies and frauds of Bernard Madoff seem very minor. And lawyers who are drug addicts are even more creative than other lawyers in finding ways to embezzle and pad the bill.)

I find it odd that all the news articles seem to give the impression that Michael Cook and James Fogarty, the cocaine supplier, were just casual acquaintances from the workplace. Actually, Cook and Fogarty have been close friends since their high school years. I would guess that there was some drug use going on since back then, but have no way to really know for sure.

He will probably get a big long scary showy sentence in prison and be quietly released rather quickly with time served.

What's the deal with these judges being "on the down low"?
