One last thing. Last year Ken Magri, Armando Magri's son came on this channel and said something that our friend Leon said. Leon came back pissed and said he never said what Magri's kid said he said. I went back to what Kenny boy said Leon had said at that time and it was BS. Leon never said anything like Ken Magri had said Leon had said. I believed Leon over Kenny bitch. I knew Ken Magri. I remember the punk when I worked for his father Armando and his asshole uncle Ernie. Also Ken Magri talks [ on his webpage ] about how his Dad helped out the Hells Angels over the years. Armando and Ernie hated the Hells Angels. I heard it said many times when I worked at Magri's.Yea, whiled they serviced all the CHP and city Cop bikes.
Hey, can we ease up on the "bitch" and "punk" name-calling?

My sincere apology to Leon for misunderstanding the wording in his post last year. In defending my late uncle Ernie I misread what Leon was actually saying, and got some facts wrong. So again, I'm sorry Leon, and thanks for the kind words about my dad. As for Ernie, yes he was mean at times, even to me. But he was a loyal brother to Armando and a decorated WWII veteran. Please, let a vet rest in peace.

Now with all due respect Mr. Blindway, I did not claim Armando "helped out the Hells Angels," but that he rode with everyone from the Harleys and Davidsons to Hells Angels. Go check at MySpace.com/ArmandoMagri . The page has over 500 vintage Harley photographs and some well researched historical blogs.

He and Ernie did not hate Hells Angels as you say. Angels were never disruptive in the store, in fact quite the opposite. But the wannabe bikers, the prospects, members from other clubs out to prove something, their rowdy behavior could be a disruption. That's why he had the so-called "no-colors" policy. It ended after we moved to the Arden Way store because Armando felt he had made his point.

Most Angels patronized their own shop anyway, would just come in to our store for gaskets and other particular items. Lonesome Ed, for example, was a regular that everybody loved, and Mother Miles used to come in. What Armando hated, and he told me this, was the bad image he thought all outlaw bikers were creating for Harley and motorcycling in general. Nevertheless, he and Lu treated all customers with equal respect.

If anyone wants to change the subject, I'm looking for firsthand information about Chocolate George, an iconic member of the Frisco chapter. I'm researching him and Freewheeling Frank for an essay about the relationship between the Haight-Ashbury hippies and the Frisco Angels. Can anyone help with some raw data?-KM

Ken Magri. Glad you came back. I truly liked your Mom and Dad. I was drunker than Hell when I wrote all that. I had just learned of a close friend's passing and me and two other friends went to Sac to be pall bearers. Your uncle Ernie and I did not always get along but I respected Ernie. I left him a message on his Legacy Memorial Site after he passed away. Me and Bryan "Mumbles"are on the site. Birney Jarvis,[ Jim Bronson ] past away June, 2012. Maybe you already know.Another person I really liked was Mike Shattuck.
