Blindway I can't believe that somebody actually remembers 'Frisco John. He lived on the same street as Little Mike. Little Mike and Lonesome owned California Chopper Supply on 16th. St. First time I met John, I was at Mike's house, quizzing him about why the bottom of every door in his house was missing the bottom.(Mike was just smiling)never did find out. In walks John, wearing a bathrobe and slippers, telling Mike and I how he had just gotten a Shovelhead from another guy on the block. Seems like he told the dude that he was a puke that didn't deserve to own a Harley, and that he should "donate" it to John. The guy agreed, and gave the damn thing to John. Given John's size, the guy did the right thing. John was mellow, but he used his size to make you think different.

That is what I heard from Jeff R at a run to Berdoo in summer 2006. That Frisco John was living in Oak Park. Not sure about Filth Bill Johnson. Saw him on Ironworkers local 118's website {photo}for the 100th anniversary of the Ironworkers. Probably just wants to be left alone.

Maybe I've seen him in a mag. I know when Easy Rider was filmed, they had 2 Billy bikes and 2 Captain America bikes, for back-up. And a third Captain America bike for the crash at the end. I used to go to a roadside cafe years ago on Pacific Coast Hiway at the LA - Ventura county line and had a long conversation with Actor Dan Haggerty who maintained the bikes during filming of Easy Rider. Heck of a nice guy. He was Grizzly Adams on TV.

Lowrider. The only reason I appeared to be a " loose tramp on 2 wheels was because of my job ". Had a fairly steady job that covered 3 or 4 states and over 35 years. But I did have time off to " check out a lot of places".

Dan Haggerty Owned the only surviving Capt bike The originals were stolen Out of Dennis Hoppers garage before the movie was even released. And the other was destroyed in the crash scene. Now if ee can just track down all those Dukes of Hazzard Chargers....... Ps,who dosent know who Birney Jarvis is,the man is a Legend.
