Hey Blind what year did Dirty John die? I ran into him a few times at the Barrel Club on Stktn blvd years ago. A buddy of mine worked next door at Norms Electric. I used to hit this chik that worked around the corner at the Idle Hour (fine little red head) the Barrel Club and that bar behind Goldies Book store on the corner

Pressed it twice by accident, Anyhow Damn thats crazy what happened to your bud Big Chuck, if u remember i left phoenix in April for the laughlin river run at about 8:30 pm on friday night threw the mountain areas over up to kingman and reached laughlin at 11;30 pm and on the ride over was having cayotes cross the road couldnt even imagine hitting one at 75 mph also ridding up into sturgis last year had all kinds of deer literly flying across the highway them deer fly!! Ot just crazy colliding with one at highway speeds on a bike Damn!!

I think it was around 1984, maybe 1985. It was North of Whiskeytown around Etna [NW of Redding], somewhere in that area. The last time I saw John was at a little side street liquor store in North Sac with another 'Fit I didn't know. They were leaning against my car when I came out of the store. They weren't riding bikes or wearing vests but did have Misfit belt buckles. He and his girlfriend were found gunned-down in a ditch. John's full name was John Beasley Mabes. Blind.

Big Chuck. I had to look up John's death. I was off by a couple of years. It happened in 1987. I was correct about the location. Near the small town of Etna in Siskiyou County which is about 75 miles or so on Hiway 3 slightly Northwest of Redding. His girlfriends name was Shonna. Don't know anymore details and don't want to know. Take care. Blind.

Mr. Big Chuck. I am Blindways neighbor. He asked me not to use his true name. He trusts you and a few others on this webpage but does not want his real name on here. Rotary phones as a child only, Party lines are u kidding use to be on those all the time during my late teens, actually met all kinds of tail like that. heading into my 40s sooner than later. Grew up on dukes of hazard,Chips,knight rider, and old WB cartoons, My kid turns 18 nxt Month.

First of all, welcome back. You are correct. Bob had no tats. And wore these incredibly thick glasses. He also did jewelry and photography in that old house on Broadway where he had his shop. I have a photo of the place somewhere in a box. I also have a Swastika earring he made from dental silver. The earring cost $20 in 1969. I had one of his business cards but lost it several years ago. The card read "Robert Kane Smith, Broadway Tattoo" with an eagle holding the American flag in its talons in the center of the card and address and phone number at the bottom of the card. Big Chuck, one quick story from summer 1969 about these 5 or 6 A..holes from Sac. that had a problem with some idiot friends of mine in South Tahoe. After a bunch of B.S. with this group of idiots things were coming to a Head. They were older wanna-be people from Sac. and were causing problems in S. Tahoe. One night me and a friend Doug were cruising around drinking beer and smoking a J when these two punks came up towards my car, on an old Harley. Two on one scooter, with the one on the back swinging a long piece of heavy chain. On the floorboard behind the drivers seat I had a bumper-jack . I had Doug grab the bumper- jack and I rolled down my drivers side window. I was going to pitch the jack into the spokes of the front wheel, but stupid driving the bike saw it and backed off and they made a quick right turn. That was lucky for everybody involved. That group left town about a month later. Blind.
