Mercer Co. Horse Owner Faces Animal Cruelty Charges

A Mercer County man faces cruelty to animal charges after some horses were taken off his property.

This guy Pease is RICH RICH RICH and currently has at least one top winning show horse with a trainer campaigning on the circuit in Kentucky and adjoining states. HE HAS THE MONEY. He just won't take care of his other horses. I say, eye for an eye justice is appropriate - let HIM stand naked where the bugs can feast on his blood, let HIM go without clean cool water to drink and let HIM miss a LOT of meals and see how he likes it. This kind of person feels no remorse, no shame, but judges tend to look favorably on the rich ones so he'll probably get off with a tsk tsk and no other punishment other than being tried in the court of public opinion. Well - I say let the court of public opinion do its best to impose SHAME on this evil old man!

I have tried for 2 winters to get the pasture full of horses near the mercer boyle county line some kind of help. The animal control officer said well they are old horses (he always has a answer but i see nothing done) well no they are yearlings with a few older horses as well theres no shelter no grass no one that seems to do any thing but collect them is there a law on how many horses you can have per acre or something i feel so bad for them

One of the horses that is still in his care is a former World's Champion, formerly owned by Elizabeth Goth of Lebanon Kentucky. If anyone knows her, pass the news along that one of her former show stars is dying in a field, while the current owner, Mr. Pease, is showing horses in the same show she is probably watching.

Much as I hate to admit it I would have to agree that the saddlebred people "suck." Why? because they ALL KNOW that this is happening and they have decided that Mr. Pease has to be protected from any info getting out on the internet. So the forums that cater to the saddlebred breeders and trainers and riders, those forums have shut off all information about these poor horses and have been very nasty to people who dared to speak up with eye witness accounts. It is a cover up because Pease has a lot of money and pull in his community and it is a lot easier to bury the starving four-legged ones in back pastures and play nice with the powerful owner than have the guts to step up to the plate and actually do something, stick your darn necks out for once in your lives and be a fighter for the horses. It is mares with babies for God's sake and the saddlebred people would rather see them die than OMG embarrass poor rich Mr. Pease! And poor rich Mr. Pease's trainer! Heaven help us we simply cannot embarrass them with the truth, oh my no!!!

I am a saddlebred person, have been my whole life. No, saddlebred people love their horses. Some of the people who are on the Trot forum are not what they represent themselves to be. I spoke out, told my eyewitness account of the farm and horses and parts were censored. All the saddlebred people I know are very up-in-arms about this and want Pease prosecuted. His wife is as guilty for turning the other cheek to the starvation. The best we can do is to put pressure on Mercer County Animal Control, Judge Jeff Dotson who is residing and Doug Greenburg, the County Attorney to make certain he is prosecuted to the fullest.

nice to see some concern. As i have said animal control has not done ANYTHING AT ALL in my other concerns abought some animals you can see all their ribs and hipbones and backbone driving by the pasture they are in doing 60 mph how can the animal care officer not see this standing if front of these animals he made excuses for the owner,anyway thats another bunch of starving horses so if there is a way to let all the people attending the saddlebred shows know what a dirt bag this guy is maybe thats a better way to get something done. horses, dogs .cows animals depend 100 percent on us humans to feed, water, give shelter you know the basics so if we see someone who is starving them we must do something.

Hey horse lover. Because I spoke the truth the moderators shut down the thread. Now the people who were glad I came forth have had to move to another site. To get to it go to Trot.org click on forums and then scroll down to Forum closed and click on that. It will direct you to a site that's open for discussion. I'm going to post this site for the people there.
