the republicans were wrong to implement tax cuts to those outsourcing jobs. the democrats didn't revert those laws. so, they are guilty of accepting those tax cuts.

bottomline, we have a government who cares more for foreigners then they do for americans and america.

I hope to god they all die. every single one of them. traitors.

if outsourcing jobs is such a good policy, then, why isn't every freaking country following in our footsteps to implement this same policy? duh.

most if not all countries make it a priority that jobs in their country go first to their own people before consideration for hiring foreigners is made. yet, we seem to be doing just the opposite? why?

I will ask you the same question, what laws are you referring to specifically?
There are no tax cuts for outsourcing jobs. There is a long used practice of claiming the expenses of outsourcing as a business expense on a companies taxes. This is what most think of as the outsourcing tax break, it is not a tax break and Bush didn't start it.
There is also a provision in the tax code that allows a company not to pay US taxes on money made in another country, but there are specific rules on how that works. First, the money must not enter the US, and the company still must pay taxes in the country where the money was earned.
Next try actually doing some research beyond that liberal progressive propaganda page you linked.

before nafta and cafta and all this free trade bullshit, the usa was riding high. we had 6+ percent interest rates on our savings. and everybody pretty much had work when we needed it. even kids could get work.

then, nixon followed by the bushes and even the democrats came on with this "help take the poor countries out of poverty" plan that was suppose to help EVERYBODY.

did it? bottomline, that is the question. DID IT?

within another year, we will see all the unemployment check relief programs go to the wayside because we don't have anymore money to support it. and MILLIONS will be out of work and OUT OF money that came from the unemployment checks.

the shit hits the fan. and all the as#holes on capitol hill both democrats and republicans are going to feel the pain. we might even have some killed I would imagine by starving americans who basically got so fed up with pandering by the politicians to foreign interest.

nafta, cafta, and the UNFAIR free trade agreements are not working. and the reason they are not working is because those we get into these agreements with are not honoring their sides of the agreement.

we have india, china, and even places like thailand not honoring our patents on drugs that we invented. they use excuses like "we need the drugs to service our aids patients." to pardon their STEALING of our drugs.

our media copyrights like movies, music, software, etc are STOLEN with impugnity to the tune of BILLIONS each year by all these countries, and the idiots on capitol hill don't do anything. turning their heads and screaming that free trade is still working. unbelievable.

we are suppose to have national security laws that prohibit transfers of any secrets of ours that can used by foreign military powers to improve their military might to other countries. and now all these other countries are building our chips and circuits.

the government is not doing anything about it.

we outsource our jobs overseas and do we see other countries allowing the same policy to be applied in their countries? do we see china, thailand, india, vietnam, etc. allowing american citizens to freely go to their countries to work?..the answer is a big fat NO.

hell, the idiots even want to allow foreigners to come and work in the usa ILLEGALLY. take our jobs away at home because guys like you say we have to to compete?

HONEST TO GOD UNBELIEVABLE!

our toy industy is demolished. our shrimp industry is demolished. if it wasn't for some rational souls, we would have lost our seaports to the middle east. but these stupid trade policies are still being pursued by the idiots on capitol hill.

BRAIN DEAD?

then, guys like you go off on talking about asking people like myself to prove that there is something wrong with the way things are going? you want me to point out the tax cuts? the policies that according to you are not hurting us?

do you honestly think the usa is better off then it was before these insane UNFAIR free trade agreements????

they should all be scraped because they don't work. and the reason they don't work is because no one can force the other to adhere to the terms of the agreements.

protectionism is rampant overseas. why do goods like spam, oscar meyer weiners, pinto beans, etc.(the list goes on.) cost 3x more in thailand then it does in the states? why we are not allowed to sell our beef overseas?

and guys like brown of the UK go off screaming that the usa shouldn't engage in protectionism to protect itself? insane.

we need to to protect the country we need to protect the people.

screw the UNFAIR free trade.

we already have laws on the books that require usa companies to first get approval from the government to work or engage in business in other countries.

we should enforce these laws and prohibit scenarios where it is found to hurt us.

if the companies don't obey the rulings, we should confiscate them.

Asian guy, had you read the posts leading up to my question you might have learned that the question was in response to yet another Presidential knob slobbering liberal too afraid to come out from under Barry's desk to look up facts, after all it is easier to blame Bush for every bad thing that is or has happened in the known universe. I didn't care about the answer, I already knew it, there is no tax break for outsourcing. Do I support the practice of claiming outsourcing as a business expense, no. Do I support NAFTA? No, I didn't like it when Clinton signed it and I don't like it now. NAFTA and the other free trade agreements were and are bad for the US economy and really are just a thinly veiled attempt at creating an EU type structure in the Americas. One more step towards globalization.
As for outsourcing in general, I blame the US government as a whole, both parties, for creating a hostile business environment. Choosing to open a new factory in Malaysia over opening one in Detroit makes good business sense. Labor costs in the US are outrageous, a worker in Malaysia makes less in a week than the average auto worker makes before lunch, and there are no extra expenses like Workers Compensation, unemployment insurance, FICA, and soon to be Obamacare forced on the company. The companies also pay less in taxes to the foreign countries where they operate so of course they choose to move out of the US.
As for the importing of foreign workers to the US I blame our education system. Our students graduate from college half trained and expecting top dollar, and why not, they can collect benefits and stay on Mom and Dad's insurance until they are 26. Given the choice I might stay in the family and play Call of Duty all day too.
I work in IT, it's a field that is flooded with foreign workers. You want to know why, because they are good at it. India, China and Japan produce graduates who know the trade and are willing to work their way up the pay scale. Instead of fixing a healthcare system that wasn't broken, the billions of dollars spent on Obamacare would have been better spent fixing the education system in this country.
And by the way, SPAM is expensive in Thailand and Vietnam because ground pork shoulder is considered a delicacy over there. In Vietnam it is often given as a wedding gift, go figure.

you really are full of it, aren't you?

the usa does not have to compete with other countries. and we don't have to allow our companies to freely go where they choose to go even if it may seem they would do better outside the usa.

we have all the laws in the books already to control the outsourcing of jobs and factories.

with all the unemployment and the economic turmoil that the usa is currently experiencing from nafta, cafta, and the UNFAIR free trade, it is obviously better for us to disengage.

bush was wrong in implementing the programs, and obama is guilty of not stopping the damage by disengaging.

as for our students being so stupid that they cannot compete with students from other countries, a myth. the only reason why they are saying that our students cannot compete is because they want to hire people for cheaper salaries. no more. no less.

in most countries, the job policy is to make sure the locals have 1ST priority to jobs before foreigners are even considered for jobs. this is the case in thailand, CANADA, etc. the usa should follow this same policy. if it were me, I would not allow the outsourcing of jobs. PERIOD. especially if the job is related to items of "national security" like chip design, and centrifudges.

as for spam being a delicacy in thailand and vietnam.. where did you get that bullshit? the people in those countries don't even buy the stuff. it's too expensive.

spam is in thailand because it serves as an excuse to let thailand flood the usa with their shrimp. at the same time, spam is made too expensive for the locals to buy so it doesn't compete with the local alternatives.

this is the same policy being followed by china, vietnam, and every other country that we trade with.

there is another word for this trade policy. it's called protectionism.

We actually agree on most points, only from differing perspectives. Where you see unfair trade I see unfair taxation. We both believe that NAFTA should be appealed and I'm willing to bet that you agree that Obamacare should also be appealed.
However, with a few exceptions for some Ivy league schools, I do believe that US students receive a substandard education. I've seen it first hand. I also believe that given an equal education that American graduates would not only compete for those jobs now being given to foreigners they would be in demand in other countries.
o agree on limiting what foreign nationals could study in our universities.

since the only thing you say we disagree upon is education, let's talk about that...

in my years of traveling, 30+ years, I've been around the world, and I don't agree with you that the usa has substandard education. quite the opposite, we have maybe the best in the world.

we have around a million foreign students studying in the usa each. millions more who are illegally here. if our education is so "substandard", why are they here?

bottomline, in the last century, most of the inventions that changed mankind were invented in the usa. you can't do that if you have substandard education.

yes, you have the reports of stupid people existing who don't know simple things like geography, etc. fact is, you get that everywhere in the world. more so then you think in other countries.

I've met people who don't know how to count. or how to use an elevator, or an escalator...who cannot imagine countries with more than one race. hell, I've met people who never seen a bathtub.

another thing, the internet is still not prevalent in many countries. even in china. yeah. you may have like 300 million in china that have access. but the other billion are still in the dark ages. in thailand, the internet didn't become a thing until around 1998.

substandard education? a myth pushed by teachers and the like so that they can justify increasing budgets for their livilhood.

one last thought... you suggested that "IF" we had better education, we could compete for jobs in other countries.

man, you still don't get it, do you? I get the feeling you think the world is some open door for everybody. and we in the usa have access to compete on jobs with everybody anywhere.

that's not reality.

let me repeat.. most countries that I've been to don't allow foreigners to compete with their own people for jobs. even if their resumes are much better...this is the case even in canada.

and here in the usa, we allow companies to outsource all our jobs, and factories overseas? unbelievable.

our government is responsible for this happening. it started with nixon, and continued with all the other presidents up to now. carter, clinton, reagan, and yes, the bushes. and also obama. all responsible for the downturn of the usa.

dumbass MFers. every single one of them.

Education in America has been plummeting even though we continue to throw more and more money into this failed mess. It's a result of every socialistic program we have incorporated. We must not have to educate those who don't want to be educated. They can spend their time in learning a skilled trade until they turn 18. Their choice. Govt. education should only provide the basics and nothing more. Parents should pay a user tax to pull their weight.......90% of those who attend most schools can. If parents want to continue to pop out brats they can't afford, we must be able to say enough of this. Most of the public schools I have evaluated are so inferior, they are not even worth talking about.

guy, you got it all wrong, man.

education in the usa is what enabled the country to invent most of the inventions that benefited the world in the last century.

want a list?

automobile, airplane, microcomputer, tv, internet, computer languages(s), microprocessor, atom bomb, etc. so many drugs...

the list goes on.

you don't get people inventing things if they don't have a good education, moron.

yeah. we have stupid people in our schools. what country doesn't? so, you say we have idiots who don't even know geography?

imagine a world where people don't know how to count?..how to take an elevator or an escalator?..how to turn the handles in a bathtub?..turn on a lamp light?

imagine a world where slavery still exists?

this is reality for MANY people in the world, genius. if you have done any traveling at all, you would know this.(obviously, you haven't.)

quit demonizing everything in the usa, idiot. if you don't like it, go to africa, or some other place where the education is so "great" like you keep ranting about.

The GOP’s totally new concept “accomplishment-free governing.” House Republican leaders have a plan for 2014: Aim low, think small, and hope voters don't mind. The "Do-Nothing" Congress intends to do even less.
