Reading between the lines:
"Gone is the officer who thought it was somehow OK to keep track of paid time off in his head [TASCA]; informal procedures structured to enhance an officer's pay simply to attend court during working hours have been eliminated [KADDY]; and the harmful concept of loyalty to individuals [LOUNEY] has been replaced with the proper values of organizational integrity [MAYOR] and a commitment to quality policing [CHIEF].
With such leadership and accountability, our patrol officers [FINALLY ABLE TO DO THEIR JOBS] brought about better crime rate results in 2009 -- nearly a 4 percent reduction in overall crime reported to police last year -- despite operating with fewer personnel and limited financial resources."

LOL he should be with his salary....Not to mention a 28% raise this year.

The only things that the Chief of Police for the city of Fitchburg is focused on is giving illegals driver's licenses and keeping law abiding citizens from owning guns.
Great leadership alright!!
Tasca was allowed back on the force??
Same old same old in Fitchburg!
#78 Dec 3, 2010
Hope this means they are ready to clean up the streets of the burg. They need to start cracking down on all the crime or its just going to get worse. But they cannot do it all themselves; these judges better wake up and sentence these life long criminals appropriately.

Yes, Tasca was reinstated and the Mayor agreed to "not disclose" the particulars and facts of how the agreement was reached! The newspaper agreed not to pursue this information via the information act.
Others recieved promotions as they all filed suit along with civil service.Fitchburg is down roughly 4 cruisers from last year. The entire department recieved pay raises. They had to arrest their own police officer as his plate fell off at the scene of the destruction.
Fitchburg has seen more robberies this year and none got caught. The state police are back in town helping out, thank god. And the FBI is finally paying attention to the running of the FPD and other city officials.
Crack has re-emerged with a vengence. JRs patrons are still breaking traffic laws as FPD cruisers sit under the commuter rail underpass and pull over citizens! Mac is on the attack writing more tickets to cover OT costs as they shut down the matchbook cover/taco bell wrapper accounting practices. Still failed to recover the tens of thousands taken out of accounts for this illegal OT that they were giving to each other. Daily golf trips have finally stopped.
Alot of the Mayors support for finally attacking the rogue fpd are fastly fading if not gone after he ageement to not disclose the reasons for her about face from larceny charges to "years of service" gratitude and appreciation. The $5,000 plus to given to the ex-cop to investigate the fpd is spent and again the public got the shaft here.
Still no streetlights on as everyone is crashing on water street including cops as a person posting on here had wierdly predicted two days prior after the city raised there new "gateway" statute and display. Still no jobs for fitchburg residents available. Dire circumstances seen everywhere except for public employees who enjoy more money in a tough economy!
#80 Dec 3, 2010
here is the post that predicted the crash on water street:
Friday Nov 5 gateway to what????
Friday Nov 5 It's to bad you have to drive through the area of abandoned buildings, strip club, prostitutes and gang bangers before you get there. They also put it in a bad spot, it's going to get destroyed as a result of a police chase before to long.
This was in reference to the Market Basket city mural/gateway statute.

Arresting one of their own is not easy as they rely on each other to watch their back".
Very interesting comment. I suppose that you are right. It makes more sense just to allow cops who are breaking the law; or who are grossly out of line; to keep doing what they are doing; as opposed to living up the oath that you swore to live by. Sure, it is no problem for a cop to arrest anyone from the general public; but it does not make sense to arrest wrongdoing cops; because the rest of the cops will call you a Rat; and they will turn on you.
Sure, a Rat is just on honest cop; who does the right thing and applies the laws fairly and equally; even if it means arresting a fellow officer. But, as you point out; this will lead to the pontetial of all the other cops no longer watching the honest cops back.
So, thank you for explaining it to the Readers. I already knew that was how the cops operate; but others may not realize it.
Again, a Rat is simply an honest cop who does the right thing; even if it means arresting one of his own. But, there is no room for these types of cops on our nation's police forces. The cops hate a Rat more than they hate a pedephile or a thief.
Again, thanks for sharing a cop's view on this.

BS. Crime that is reported is down. People arew scared Shilless to report crime because the gangs will make them pay. Fewer officers on the street = more crime. They have kept a lot of stuff out of the papers so that things look better than they are. It is easy to manipulate the numbers, just look at the enemmployment reports. The beginning of the week all was going to be good. Today, oh what a surprise. Don't believe what you read.

Get help Lynch??? Iím lostÖ. Granted Iím not the brightest bulb in the box, but I can usually follow a conversation. Why does Congressman Lynch need help? All he did was make calls for Fitchburg Resident to try and get some issues he was having with the FPD resolved. Whatís wrong with that? Am I missing something here? It is my understanding that thatís what their for when you need help resolving an issue and cutting the Red Tape and getting an issue resolved they are their to help their constituents. They only reason they should refrain from getting involved is if the person they are making calls for is a relative or close family friend, which I donít think is the case here because Fitchburg Resident lives in Fitchburg (I assume) and his mother and Lynchís district is in Boston so I donít know how they could be friends or relatives. But hey, maybe its just me and Iím missing something.

As I thought the red truck with plate number V5X I believe is the same truck that parked in the LEFT lane in front of TD North during rush hour. He just blatently blocked traffic and got out like he owned the world!
Well I seen this truck at JRs two dauys ago with Cadilac Obriens car. I went by the police station today and low and behold! There is the truck parked in the front row!
This guy must be a big shot in the fpd and part of the clique who feels that THEY run the city and everyone else is below them!
When I seen this truck in the driving lane I wrote the license down as I couldn't believe the blatent arrogance being displayed! This person I would guess is TROUBLE!
So we attempted to follow this truck as I wanted to see if it went to the police station. This truck was driving too fast to follow and he blew the light!
If I was to guess this man is the head of the clique! I went to the Mayors office that day and gave her the plate number and reported it to the Chief. As I told the Mayor;"Mayor you nor I would NEVER attempt to just park our cars in the left lane on Main st, especially during rush hour"!
The driver of this truck knows 100% that he faces ZERO consequences for his blatent law breaking! This is a dangerous man!
While I was at the station I noticed another cruiser on a flat bed. The entire front end was smashed! At this rate the FPD will need to utilize their personal vehicles to patrol the city!
Well, I know that you read these bloggs and particularly this one Chief Demoura! You need to check this cop as he is heading for some serious law breaking as he believes that he has carte blanche to break the law!
I am curious who this guy is? It is a nice new red pickup with an extended cab and he has been parked at JRs and the police station now!
Warning to the general public; this guy is dangerous as he has NO problem at all parking in the left lane on main street.
If you ever seen someone parked on main street on the left in front of TD bank north during rush hour like I did; you would of been shocked! I am so surprised that someone didn't crash right into this truck!
The license plate could of been slightly different but that is the truck! Now this is the second truck that I identified at the FPD; the other one I pointed out to fossa in person as the truck who was following my friend and myself. They were stalking hard! The passenger window was down as there was apassenger in the vehicle and the driver was pointing us out to the passenger and then went around the block a few times slowly watching as a friend was walking my dogs!

You are correct. Senator Lynch was working for his constituent and not a friend or family member when he attempted to mediate a situation between an elderly constituent of his; there was NO irregularitie here,NONE! Senator Lynch is known for his strong stances for the rights of the elderly as for some horrible reason others feel that they can abuse and mistreat the elderly as well as victimizing them through scams ect!
Stephen Lynch is a great Congressman as he works hard for his constituents everyday especially the elderly!

Now for Senator Flanagan and Congressman Olver! I contacted them both over issue that I was experiencing with the FPD. Flanagans office would not intervene! Olvers office did though! They put me in touch with the US justice departments civil rights division and recomended that I contact a few other people which I did.
I know that the Fitchburg Police Union endorsed Flanagan which My feelings on that is that they should never endorse any candidate as they are public employees. But it is legal so they do it all the time.
I am interested in bettering Fitchburg as I see a lot of great things, places and people within Fitchburg! I believe that Fitchburg could be a striving city! The Clique that I talk about is holding Fitchburg back and has for years! They need to be disolved so that Fitchburg can strive! This group must be FORCED to abide by the laws and conduct themselves accordingly!
Without this change their cannot be a building of a relationship between the public and the police that would create a mutual sense of community that focuses on bettering Fitchburg!
If the city police refuse to ticket and tow cars from in front of JRs then the Chief must request the state troopers to take care of this problem! When I see a fire engine come within one inch of these cars I get BS mad! Ofcourse the driver of the engine will not say anything due to the connections the JRs has but if it were any other bar then all the firefighters would rightfully complain! No cars should EVER be parked in that fire lane;EVER!
Let me explain my anger! When I see an ambulance coming flashing I immediately pull to the right and do what I can to accomodate them. I have gotten out of my car before and screamed at cars to get the F out of the way as they sat their one day! This is the law and it should be strictly followed! These guys need to get to an emergency and everyone needs to assist them always! We have the most professional firefighters in the state of Massachusetts! These guys are always professional and they are always seeking out bettering training methods all the time! We are lucky to have such a professional FFD!! These guys should always recieve assistance without hesitation from all the residents of Fitchburg!

Well Fitchburg Resident I did some looking around because for some reason it didnít make sense to me that posters would attack Congressman Lynch for no reason, epically if he was the squeaky clean guy you portrayed him to be. It seems to me that he has some skeletons in his closet and in my opinion is a Bigger Thief then Taksa or any of them. Did you know that your dear Congressman got 1.6 million in earmarks in federal earmarks for organizations that his wife had ties to! He even sent $760,000 to an organization that she is a director at! This guy could not cite any instances where he has secured funding for any similar organizations in his district! Ok in my opinion Taska is a CROOK and this guy is the KING OF THIEVES. Never mind asking your mom to have him look into matters outside his district, you should have her investigate the Congressman who I suspect sent more federal money to organizations that his wife worked for then Taska ever stole.

Fitchburg Resident you should not be so critical of the Fitchburg Police Union. Now your crusade against corrupt Police Officers who have wronged you is justified (well I donít know about the part where you stalk the members of the police department, but to each his own). However, I defiantly would not bash this union! You see a few years back, I was outside on the side of the road working on my car, I know I was in a no parking zone and shouldnít have been trying to fix my car there. Well as I was working on my car when a Fitchburg Police officer stopped and told me I had to move my car, he was middle aged man and I to this day do not remember his name. I told him that my alternator was dead and that I was out of work and trying to fix the car myself because I could not afford a tow and repair bills at a garage. He chuckled and told me he remembered those days when his father would have to do the same thing. He then jumped out of his car and told me he would help me push it off the street to my driveway. To make a long story short we got to talking, when my son came out and the Officer asked him what he wanted Santa to bring him. My son said that he wanted a bike and he was sure Santa would bring it to him because he was good all year. The Officer talked to my son for a bit and said that he knew Santa would bring him the bike. After my Son went inside I told the Officer he shouldnít have said that because ďSantaĒ would not be bringing my son a bike because I could not afford one. He chuckled again and told me not to worry about getting his son a bike for Christmas. He told me just to make sure I was home all morning Christmas Eve morning and that he would talk to Santa himself about the bike. Now I though this Officer had gone off his meds when he said this and went back inside my house. We were home all morning Christmas eve when all of sudden a few police cars pulled up outside of my house Santa got out of one of them and then Santa and a few officers brought baskets of food into my house and Santa walked in the house with the new bike that the officer told my son he was getting. I could not believe what was happing to me as all of this was going on when that same officer appeared and told me to enjoy my Christmas. When I asked him where all this was from he told me it was from the Toys for Tots programs that the police union participates in and raises money for, and that this same thing had been going on all day across the city. Well after that interaction I will never have a bad thing to say about that union and as for my son after that all he wanted to do was become a police officer, however, he has not achieved that goal yet he has started that journey by joining the US Army.

You need to do some research on Steven Lynch, hes not the Saint you make him out to be! Infact in my oppionion he is just like Taska
#91 Dec 4, 2010
I remember that you had posted this information about Steven Lynch before when I was posting on the Tasca matter back then. I have not researched this information but I will. From the sounds of it; Stevens wife did not personally recieve these funds as is attempted to portray; the drug rehabs that she was involved in managing had recieved these benefits. So, let me ask is the Congressman not suppose to back a bill that sends money to these in need organizations because his wife works in the industry? Or is he suppose to block her organization from recieving funding? Now if you want to look into illegal dealings and earmarks look into Halliburton.
Now for that police officer to bring gifts is a good thing and it should be done more often! We need more intervention between the fpd and the youth in Fitchburg! The Boston Police had a program where they took these kids out shopping as big brother mentors. I mentioned this program specifically to Chief Demoura and the Mayor both last year! There is a need to build a sense of community between the fpd and the citizens of Fitchburg!
My problem with the fpd is with corruption, a blatent sense of entitlement to be able to break the laws by some officers being displayed for all to see and a major rudeness being displayed by members of the fpd.I sat down with the Chief and he told me that he was going to call all members to a meeting as well as sending out a memorandum in reference to being more polite with the general public as a need and as a goal for the fpd! I believe that the chief had this meeting and had sent out this memo as he seemed sincere.
Now many out here would criticize this need for a memo as foolish and a small issue but it is not. Business owners across the city had been complaining of rudeness from fpd members. Many citizens were complaining of the same thing. I had experienced a very thuggish mentality and extremely rude mentality from the police.I believe that the fpd needs to be more involved with the community at large including kids that are on the fence between school advancement and crime! I proposed a program with the Mayor where certain officers were given business cards to be given to those kids in the commu nity that they knew that were in this position; the card would have brought them to the Mayors office where jobs would have been offered to these kids and mentors. I suggested that the Mayor obtain a certain number of jobs from the commuter rail grants to be used specifically for this purpose.

In reference to the bike story which I feel is a good thing. I too was involved in a similar position. The girls across the street, I watched playing school. I don't see this much any more, I thought it was an awesome site. Well anyways this one girl did not have a bike and her sister needed training wheels on hers. So My friend and his brother got this used bike and took it apart and cleaned it up for hours, then they painted it pink and black and gave it to the girl. The girl smiled for weeks,It was an awesome site! Know they also placed the training wheels for her sisters bike. This little girls father unfortunately I never seen hug this little girl as he was too busy being a gangster wannabe and dead beat father. This is the guy that I seen give the dominican cop a big smile and acknowledgement; this SICKENED ME GREATLY! This is the cop that MANY have stated that he takes drugs and money from dealers!
Since this deadbeat father finally went to jail. The sisters bike was stolen again! These two sisters are so curteous and sweet girls as they still play school! Now this is what I am about; I believe in kids being kids, I am a major education proponent, I believe in the kindness of people as a great thing, I believe in the importance of the sense of community between the fpd and the citizens of Fitchburg. What I am totally against is crooked cops!I am totally against the law breaking clique as it is so counter productive to Fitchburg.
#93 Dec 4, 2010
I find it strange that you watch the little girls across the street.
