"It adds $113 million funding for energy programs within the DOE, totaling $10.3 billion, but cuts renewable energy funding by $113 million from last year’s level, to $1.8 billion. "

Yeah, and it's still bouncing around in committee. Does, Congress know what is being "cut" by $113 million? Is there a short list of what will be cut? It would have actually been helpful to have this information supplied by the article.

Yeah, the high profile failures like Solyndra made all the headlines. "We found a correlation suggesting that the DOE made choices on the basis of the information that was most cognitively available – information provided by lobbyists – rather than on the basis of the viability of the technology and the soundness of the company applying for the subsidies. "

The very branch of the Government that is supposed to keep an eye on the use of our taxpayer money and it's judicial use was not consulted for the DOE program. The GAO should have been instrumental in the analysis of the companies "business plan" who applied for Government funds. If you want to see a real cluster, take a look at the Small Business Administration. It's been around since 1953 and we the taxpayer are on the hook for outstanding loans of about 70 Billion dollars. These are loans that are considered "risky". Take a look a few years back of the investigation of the SBA by the GAO. They found poor record keeping, out and out fraud and overall incompetence. There are some Committee hearings on You Tube from a few years back. There was a series of meetings, showing the head of the SBA at the time testifying the SBA was running smooth. Then the testimony of the GAO member who found waste and mismanagement within the SBA. How the hell somebody didn't go to jail for this is beyond me.

when the GOP cuts from one budget that helps people or is or good for the future they don't cut that spending in whole,,,,they just take that money and roll it into our WAR MACHINE NO BID MILITARY BLOAT...

Have heard for GOP politicans se should spend more on military and give more FREE stuff to Israel....Don't forget the GOP spends as much as democrats just gop spends it on war military cops and FBI CIA type spending and democrats spend it on roads schools old and poor people..

So vote GOP for war and military bloat and more laws and mor cops or vote for people and goodness.
