Glenn DA won't file charges against Paradise man

Glenn County District Attorney Bob Holzapfel said charges won't be filed against Paradise resident Wallace Ray Sparks, 74, after two men said he threatened them with a running chain saw in a remote area of the Mendocino National Forest.

Who's Lambert's and Otterson's attorney? Max G! Talk about frivolous law suits, what a waste of the public's money. Is this really about chain saw envy? Good for Bob, at least someone has some common since.

I know another Sky High property owner who was present the day Sparks was packing the chain saw. My friend said they each hold restricted leases with the Forest Service where their cabins are. One of the lease restrictions is that no fences be built. Apparently, according to what I was told, Sparks was dead set on erecting a fence that day and Lambert and Otterson were trying to reason with him. Don't know Otterson very well, but Lambert is a thoughtful and kind person who definitely is not a hot head. I imagine the info in the ER story is exactly what the D. A. gave to the ER staff. Lambert and Otterson were in the right. I'd suppose the D.A. believes he is being "frugal" with taxpayers money by not spending it to prosecute here. Unfortunately, he does have that discretionary power.
