Anybody notice that Syria's Assad sat down and FACED TOUGH QUESTIONS from reporters in interviews. President Obama has NEVER had tough questions AND follow ups from the American press corps!

Where are the tough questions for President Obama?

Where were questions about healthcare at the President's 'press' conference?

Where were questions about his previous support for NOT increasing the debt limit when he was a Senator?

Oh, that's right! The media, press corps are more like communist countries media.

The DISINFORMATION, the ABSENCE of a DEMANDING MEDIA, the PROBING QUESTIONS which should be asked are NON-EXISTENT!

Shame!

The press will not ask Obama ANY tough questions because they think that challenging His Lordship makes them racist.

We are led by an inexperienced amateur who has never done ANYTHING in his whole life. Nothing.

As usual, President Obama took the tough questions (16 questions to be exact) and destroyed the right-wing tea-baggers of the Republican Party with his responses… compare that to Boehner taking 2 questions and running away.
I love the way the GOP is begging Obama to save them from themselves; but the President is letting them know that they have only one way out of the mess that they created… COMPLETE SURENDER!

For you really big economic nerds out there.....great read on Forbes:

Some fodder for both the Right and Left, but great reading: "The US Debt Ceiling Fallacy Agreement or Not there will be no default"

Additionally, what many people seem to forget is that, yes,$5t of outside countries own US debt....1, they own to stabilize their own currency and in no way no how do they a. care about the interest rates they earn and b. would ever sell....and 2. The US government currently has roughly 90% of the $5T invested in THEIR currencies...

So...interest payment go there and come here.....you do this to control currencies form wide fluctuations (think of the reasons why the Euro was created). Also....let's say China get's scared and sells our debt or demands payment.....US can do the exact same to China with the debt the US government owns of Chinese debt and currencies.

Ugh...

International monetary policy makes even economist scratch their heads....I know lots about it, and I promise you, I know nothing about it....the only way to even get a hold of all the +/- is draw it....or have fancy computer models help you.

However, do NOT let the boogieman at Fox News tell you that we are doomed and that $17T in debt is bad....and do not let one person tell you that owing money to states and other federal agencies are bad.

There has been white papers written at nauseum that prove Federal agencies that owe to states has no possible impacts.

Nice to see someone gave our President a nice hefty pair of brass testes for Octoberfest.
Called out the entire pre-school level GOP for exactly what they are.
Let's see if they can respond at a level greater than a 2nd grader.

AP
62% of Americans blame Republicans for the shutdown according to a new AP poll. 70% of Americans disapprove of the GOP, compared to 24% who approve, according to yesterday's WaPo numbers.

That makes Republican lawmakers considerably less popular than the much-maligned Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. 45% of Americans view the law favorably, compared to 49% unfavorably, according to Rasmussen.

That means Republicans have a net disapproval rating of -46, whereas Obamacare is doing much better with the public at -4.(Both entities have a negative approval rating.)

This could have real consequences for Republicans in the 2014 congressional elections. Republican incumbents in 17 of 24 districts polled are lagging behind a hypothetical Democratic challenger, according to a PPP poll.

So you are saying that Federal debt isn't a factor to overall wealth of the nation if the entities that own that debt is part of the national make up of America?

Sort of like giving your spouse a loan for $100 and charging 10% interest does your households overall wealth change?

You are quite correct and a prime example, any American who does not know that "America" is always spelled with an upper case A is typical of the idiot you are talking about.

Oh, damn, you ARE that idiot.
