Abandoned Pets in Dunlap

Full story: newsdunlap.com

All these abandoned pets are a poor reflection of our community. We all need to address this problem I have seen abandoned dogs in Dunlap roaming around with fur matted together and maggots writhing below their skin, still walking, because they had to walk.

I know how can people harm animals, It is different to have to eat one but to be just mean?

Sociopaths are commonly animal abusers.

That is a very good question. There are not enough homes for these unwanted creatures.
I just shipped one out Fri.to its new home in New Jersey.
He was one of the lucky ones who went with a gentleman who would go to the Animal park and watch everyone elses dogs play.
Smiley was in very bad shape when he came in and had an operation and was neutered before he left.
The man has been in contact with me and says that smiley can no longer bark but it doesn't matter because he has stolden his heart.
They go to the park and now he watches his dog play. This man lives alone in assisted living. But not every animal is as lucky. One died in me hands yesterday from neglect. He was so far gone that I gave him CPR twice and brought him back but his heart kept stopping so I had to let him go.He died of starvation.

That's just awful. Are there any programs in play that I can donate money to - to get these pitiful animals some shelter, food and water? I like in Alaska now but I will gladly help if I can. My dog is like my kid to me and this is breaking my heart.

This is all so sad. I will never understand why people get puppies and abandon them. I love my dog she is my best friend for sure. Dogs are man's best friend. How can they abandon their best friends?

I digress

I just went and seen Helping Hands For Heavens Creatures.

Nice place. The thrift store was neat and tidy.
They need a free ad. How will people know what good work they do if they do not advertise.

Lots of people quit reading the paper when it went to 75 cents. The Internet Multi-Media ads are online 24/7. Not just Thursdays.

It's ok.Sometimes people get really ticked at me when I have to take their animal.
We have a responsibility as keepers of this earth to help the less fortunate. If someone would take away their food and water for a week and tie them in the hot sun they would beg for my help also. And believe me I would be the first there to help.I will not get angry with this person but just tell him "YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND".Blessed are the merciful.

I am the same way, i do what I do and tick people off. I do it anyway.

"People are often unreasonable,

illogical and self centered,

Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you

of selfish, ulterior motives;

Be kind anyway."

I keep this posted there is more.
Peace

Most likely just like all the rest. A slap on the hand and let go only to go on and do the same thing again.
How many of these kinds of people have already been arrested once?
I do not understand the southern states' problems with animal abuse, neglect, etc and why they won't change the laws to make it a felony.
People need real jail time and they do not get that. Make them work with animals in shelters. Or go do a puppy mill bust. JAIL!!!
Where are all the dogs now? Was any left that need homes? What kind of dogs are they?
