Were these people in a gang? You've got a carload of young men driving around with a gun. They shoot at an innocent family, drive away real fast, then run on foot when they're stopped. Real brave men there, I'll bet their homeboys and families are real proud of them and the way they proved their manhood. And the sad part is, they'll be back on the streets after a decade or so of prison gang life. I doubt they'll be productive citizens when they're turned loose on us. We'll just have to deal with a bunch of 35 yr old hardened thugs.

To answer both of your comments yes carlos carcamo was a gang member and yes he is a legal resident of the United States. I agree that this trial was a waste of our time and money but not because Carlos Carcamo wanted it that way but because the District Attorney made up every possible excuse to keep him in prison. Carcamo is an ex gang member who after surviving an attack from a rival gang in which he was shot 16 times, had a rude awakening and was trying to restart his life with his family and wife. Unfortunately for him, his wife had a fourced relationship with Anthony Cabrera and Said Garcia. Both of these men were married to her sisters. Because of these "family" tied carcamo was forced to associate himself with these men. On July 4th 2004 his wife, Veronica Carcamo, lent her sister a car that belonged to a family member of Carlos Carcamo. This is the green Honda that was later used in the attack that night. Carlos Carcamo was at his family's residence that night celebrating the holiday. The night of the attack for men were arrested after running out of the green honda. these men ran from police to the home of anthony cabreras grandmother and were hiding until the hawthorne police department arrested them a little after midnight. The four men arrested were Cabrera, Mejia, Garcia, and Hernandez. Carlos carcamo was not involved in the arrest. The two officers that first reported the incident and initiated foot persuit on the four men that were in the car, testified that indeed these were the men they saw get out of the car and that Mr. Carcamo was not present that night. None of the evidence presented by the DA pointed to Mr. carcamo as being guilty, which is why the jury ended 10 not guilty 2 guilty.

The judge himself said (off record of course) "you have the wrong guy". Carcamo wasn implicated in the situation when Cabrera took a deal to turn him in in exchange for Said Garcia's freedom and him only 20 yrs. They knew it would be easy to get Garcia off the hook because he had no previous criminal record and Carlos Carcamo had been an alleged gang member since his teenage years. The DA knew that she had nothing on Carcamo and that is why at the end she was able to offer him a deal for only 12 years of which he has already served 4. Like his lawyer said, carcamo took the deal because he did not want to run the risk of being convicted by a jury because of his gang relations. Now let me tell you how this trial was such a waste of money. Carcamo comes from s working family, his family took out loans on their homes to pay for attorney fees. they knew he had been with them on the night of July 4th and were certain he had not comitted the crime. The first trial they paid the lawyer close to $60k and this trial was dismissed because the DA had no evidence to support her charges. However, being the bitch that she is (excuse my language) she motioned for a second trial. Again his family had to look to the bank for a second loan to pay attorney fees. This time since it was a continuation of the trial the fees totaled about $30k. Again there was no evidence that pointed directly to carcamo and even though the jury ended 10-2 on carcamo's side and even though two of the jurors wrote letters to the judge stating that they strongly believed carcamo was innocent, the judge did not dismiss the trial and instead requested a second jury be called in for a 3rd trial. after $90k and the economy being the way it is now, carcamo's family did not have the money to pay for attorney fees. The court agreed to pay carcamo's lawyer to keep handling the case. In all for the past 3 years Mr. Carcamo has been in jail, over $2mil of our tax dollars have gone to pay for all the non sence of that stupid DA. Now I am not going to sit here and tell you that Carcamo has never done anything wrong in his life because I would only be blind and lieing to myself. I know carcamo had a past with the Inglewood gang, but I also know that he was restarting his life. Mr. carcamo had moved to a different state and was trying to get away from all the things in his past. Now, what angers me, is that the district attorney and the judge cared nothing about what this man was doing, what his mother and children are suffering. all they cared about was putting one more ex gang member in jail to add to their resume. well i hope you are satisfied Ms. District Attorney. May God Bless you and all I can say is you've got yours coming. And this is not a threat .... because I believe in God and I know he will be the one to judge you.

and by the way not to excuse what these men did, but someone in the attacked car was a member of a rival gang and their was a discussion that triggered the men to shoot at the car. So let's not portray this family as innocent. It was yor typical gang confrontation. However, regardless of them being from a rival territory the victims showed up to court and testified that Mr. Carcamo was not there the night of the incident. they did identify cabrera as the shooter, mejia as the front passenger, garcia as the passenger on the driver side and hernandez as the 2nd back passenger. all three victims that testified in court had never seen Mr. Carcamo before. So please before you go on and comment on something make sure you know the full details. pretty much everyone in court knew mr.carcamo was innocent, everyone that is except the D.A.

CARCAMO IS INOOCENT!! not only becuz i know him n luv himm becuz i was there when he was starting his life again wit his family and his wife!! she has helped him to move on and he did!! For sumone to accuse him of doing no wrong is sad to say they have noooo heart! Thats wat i dont like when u have a reputaion its always there n noone cares wat u have to say anymore !! but one thing people can and do change! I very much believe in that!!But yes everything gets paid back and they will have there chance to think twice about mr. carcamos reputaion n his family is still living strong and always be wit him through think n thin. I will not judge him becuz he was in a gang, but people doooo change!! Mr. Carcamo was a hardworker as well. He was handicap..for them to say he took off on a foot pursuit was not cool.. he has trouble wit his legs and isnt able to run. I will always be there for him no matter wat people have to say! I've seen it all ..trying to start his family .. n god bless him .. and his family after all the $$$ they spent and the time they spent to put a innocent person in jail!! I am sure he will do everything he can to stay outa trouble to be back home with his family that will be waiting for him always!! OO N HE WAS A GREAT UNCLE N COUSIN! I LUV U DEARLY!!
