1 Yes. The article says it wasn't criminal. So, what does a person (in this case a Police Officer) have to do, to get suspended without pay seven years later? Interesting indeed. |

1 I, like others who have posted would like to know what happened. I believe the citizens of Ansonia have a right to know. But what you've stated can ruin many lives and isn't funny at all. |

1 They said the same thing about Steve McNair until his girlfriend killed him. |

1 The two black officers committed crimes and were arrested. One of them stole a garden hose from the city. He didnt have 20 bucks to buy his own? An officers entire career is based on his integrity. If a cop steals how can you trust what he says or does? The other guy was arrested in Bridgeport for breach of peace. If Bridgeport Police resorted to an arrest he must have talked his way into it. We dont know for sure what transpired seven years ago but to suspend an officer seven years after the fact sounds serious to me. What is serious enough but not criminal??? Immoral?? Unethical?? The cat is exiting the bag!! Stay tuned. |

my goodness. why is it always a comparison of white vs. black. Why does the NAACP always have to get involed. I dont care if the police officer was male female, white black or even green. Who cares. If they commit a crime they get arrested. Now if this suspended police officer did commit a crime maybe they should of arrested him at the time. Maybe the statutory limit expired. Or maybe he should be arrested. If so then the Excecutive Committee is also in the wrong. You can bet your a** I would get arrested if I committ a crime.

2 Thats the point of the article, it was never investigated and no action was taken at the time. |

1 I'm not defending anyone but in the interest of clarity I would like to point out that one officer is accussed of stealing a hose. He has not been convicted of anything since he hasn't had his day in court yet. Previous articles state he is on paid administrative leave. Which makes you wonder, what the heck is taking so long (over a year) to end that mess? The other officer's charge was dismissed (that's in the article) and I heard around town that he is appealing that suspension. I agree with you that it is strange to read about a suspension without pay for something that took place 7 years ago. The paper states it's not criminal. So, I'm with you on speculating that it must be something serious. It makes one wonder about this officer's integrity also, as you have stated. We will just have to wait and see. |
