That was during a "state of public health emergency" (Louisiana's version of martial law) and had nothing to do with gun registry laws as was the claim being made. Constituional rights can be suspended during martial law.

They still confiscated guns from legal gun owners. Gun registration will simply make it easier to find the legal gun owners the next time the government decides it wants to take them away. BTW, N.O. agreed to return the firearms rather then having the law suit filed by the NRA play out. Wonder why. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/nation/20... How will more restrictions help anything if the current laws are not being enforced? More idiotic regulations just means more bureaucratic mess and makes criminals out of law abiding citizens.
