What? South Koreans don't even need a tourist visa to enter the United States. Are we favoring the Asians? Citizens of Canada traveling to the United States do not require a nonimmigrant visa. Mexico is part of North America but Mexicans are treated differently than Canadians why? Central Americans and South Americans need an entry visa as well. Have you ever heard of the visa waiver program? 36 countries participate in this program that allows travel without visas into the US. None of them are in the Americas. http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/without/wit...

Do they need passports?

As for why the heightened visa requirements on those south of the border, perhaps it has something to do with them holding down five of the ten spots from which illegal aliens hail.

If not, your statement makes no sense.
Students who did not graduate, taking additional classes, indicates ambition.
Ambition is a good old American tradition.
The demographics in this area are as mixed as you can get. Zoning is a hodge podge of million dollar homes, dumpy apartments, horse ranches, sub-division, everything all lumped together. My guess its the average for the valley, 20% Hispanic, 17% black, rest white and a handful of others.

BTW, Clark County School District (greater LV valley) says the High School non graduation rate is 36%. That means only 14,000 of the 22,000 HS seniors will graduate.

Again, you have your facts wrong. Our population of working age citizens is declining as our population of baby boomers coming onto social security is exploding. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php...
<quoted text>
Okay, that's funny. We're at 8.2% unemployment by claims and about 14% real unemployment. I think we're okay for the time being. If not, then let's bring in more CLEARED legal immigrants, and toss out the law breakers with their disease, criminality, lack of education, and financial drain. Bring in those who are crime free, educated, and financially autonomous.
From CNN..."California, for instance, needs to create 1.8 million jobs to keep up with its population growth, according to figures crunched by the Economic Policy Institute for CNNMoney. That's 11.2% more positions than there are today.
To come up with its jobs deficit figures, the institute calculated how many positions would have to be created in a state to get back to pre-recession levels, taking into account the growth in the working-age population.
The Golden State, despite its deep economic troubles, has seen this group expand by more than a million people since the recession began in December 2007. That places additional pressure on the state, where the unemployment rate is still 11.8%, the second highest in the nation.
Because of unemployed workers migrating to find work and the steep competition for jobs in those hot areas, even states that are doing well can still end up with a large "jobs deficit."

You didn't like my alternative after carping that independents and conservatives don't have alternatives. You may not like it, but it's there.

As for Obama or anyone else coming up with the college in lieu of service program, it's bogus. It's a self serving program made to better the life of the alien, not the country. Let these rummies prove they are all in for America or go home.

Those 25 guys who were recently sworn in as citizens were LEGAL aliens. They joined the armed forces to demonstrate fidelity. They're heroes. If it's good enough for those who waited and tested to get here, it's good enough for those who didn't.

A one sided option not worthy of a response.

Aprilvue wrote, "<quoted text>I offered my reform solution for those who came here as children illegally. Allow them to prove their fidelity by service to the country in the armed forces--period."

The DREAM act Obama submitted to congress included offering a pathway to citizenship for honorably discharged service members.

Aprilvue wrote, "<quoted text>I'm not sure what "time we live in" means. It sounds like gibberish. As far as I'm concerned we need to militarize the borders, including the coastlines, and then stick to our own laws. Guest workers should be just that, our guests. Let them have all their earnings, minus workman's comp and medical, and go home after their work is completed, with the understanding they cannot claim any government benefits. "

Again, the opinions of an uneducated idiot not worthy of a response.
He didn't say anything about needing only working age population. Are you saying those Babyboomers are of no consequence now that they are retiring? With the unemployment rate what it is, what was your point here?

He said allow illegals that came here as children to prove their fidelity by serving in the Armed Forces period. Your reply is that The Dream Act offered a pathway to citizenship for honorably discharged servicemen. That's A pathway, not THE only pathway offered.
I notice a couple of really good points that you refused to debate. You accused him of being one sided and an uneducated idiot. Yet you couldn't come up with anything to combat his statements. It's nothing new though, it's what liberals do when they can't prove their point.

Read into it what you want but there are more than just a few illegal aliens living and working here in the United States. Actually, estimates are as high as 13 million. I've even heard right wingers claim 20 million illegals. Either way, we have a million man military force on the payroll right now and it is really expensive. How much would a 13 million man military cost? A 20 million man military? Get real!

What is conservative about taking from the private sector and giving to the government sector?

There you go again, switching horses in mid-stream. The number, according to Fearless Leader, being impacted by his legal illegal, Dream Act proxy grant, was 800,000. Broken down by age, starting with the 30 year olds, we'll just get their little hinies in the service, a few thousand at a throw. Since the army max enlistment age is 42, we could most certainly get through those 800K.

What would really interest me is one, how many would actually qualify for service, and two, how many would opt to retun to their country of origin rather than serve.

The "blame game" seeks to put the weak economy on Obama's policies, but we live in a GLOBAL economy and what happens in Spain or Greece or China, etc., doesn't stay there:

Lagarde Says IMF to Cut Growth Outlook as Global Economy Weakens

By Isabel Reynolds - Jul 6, 2012 2:09 AM ET

The International Monetary Fund will reduce its estimate for global growth this year on weakness in investment, jobs and manufacturing in Europe, the U.S., Brazil, India and China, Managing Director Christine Lagarde said.“The global growth outlook will be somewhat less than we anticipated just three months ago,” Lagarde said in a speech in Tokyo today.“And even that lower projection will depend on the right policy actions being taken.” The new outlook will be announced in 10 days, after an April estimate of 3.5 percent, she said.(Cont.:)

Dude, it can't cost us any more than they already cost us. Illegal jobs, tax fraud, social security fraud, plus the cost of increased crime can't cost less than putting them in the military.

Plus, you keep manipulating "facts" to suit your argument. How many of those 13 - 20 million are actually of an age to fit into the military? Plus, the group that was being discussed was the estimated 800,000 that arrived here under the age of 16 and is currently 35 or younger.

Deport the rest of them like our law calls for.

Would you consider waivers for those who for no reason of their own, they are incapable of self care or physically unqualified due to a birth defect or cancer or something like that?

Lets face it kids. America has reached the saturation point years ago. Our schools, hospitals,
public services and even our jails cannot take the influx of free loading parasites sneaking into our border, disrespecting our society and culture. Its time to send all the little muchochos home with their illegal parents who violated the law in order to get them into the U.S. Any Criminal attorney will tell you eveidence recovered from an illegal search cannot be used as evidence as it is the "fruit of a poison tree" That is what the
offsping of the illegal aliens are, fruit of a poison tree as the parents had no right to be here in the first place.

I suggest you check the facts...Under President Obama, not only has the number of illegal immigrants entering the country gone down to its lowest in decades, the illegal immigrant population has actually decreased. They are leaving the country and going home.
I don't know how you say he is pandering. He is just establishing priorities, just like they do in the military and in hospitals (triage)....Oops my bad, silly of me to think that a conservative actually served in the military.
anyway it goes like this, when you have multiple missions you establish which ones are the most vital and work your way down.
Now given we have, I believe about 11 million illegal immigrants of all types, you have to decide which ones you want to deport first. So between
criminals-Felons i.e. murderers, rapist, gang bangers etc
Criminals-misdemeanors
loafers/non workers
students working their way through college brought in as children and raised here in the U.S.
illegal immigrants who served in the military and fought
which would you concentrate on first????
please, I know this is a difficult choice for you, being that it involves actual logic, try not to strain you brain
How about any illegal in the country that is caught at anytime. We need to check citizenship of everyone whenever they go to school , dont pay taxes , are stopped for a traffic violation, Vote, get arrested. Kids should not be able to get into a school at anytime unless they can prove they were born here of legal parents . If the kids are legal their parents have lived here since before they were 5 years old . plenty of time in those years to prove they are legal and their parents were legal when they had them , before they start school. Same with college you have 12 years . Maybe they deside not to go to collece but at least you checked. Persons in this country that are illegal should not be fighting fighting in our military. How can we trust them? How can we punish them when they are not US citizens? Can an American fight in Mexicos military ? or any other countries military they want too? Illegals found a loophole and are exploiting it. Why select a group and let the others go???
