I read the story. Now I'm wondering why there aren't corroborating witness quoted and why the police are downplaying this. I think it's irresponsible journalism, but for an entirely different reason than you do.

Why were these the only victims? This type of behavior from teenagers, black or white, never seems to stop with just one victim. No one called the police about this incident while it was occurring? Everyone else on the street slept through something like this?

I know white folks would never make up a story like this to cover up a drunken brawl with each other, so I just can't imagine what's going on here.
