nothing will be done until the fed recognizes same sex marriages. this includes irs taxation laws, etc.

and i doubt that any lawsuits to obtain funds that might be filed will even be entertained by the courts.

Good, that money can go to normal decent people that deserve it.
That's the point. Normal decent people who already paid into the system, and deserve it, are being denied it.

It's a government-approved Ponzi scheme that is financially unsustainable as currently structured.

That's very true. It was put in place when there were a lot more people working in ratio to the number retiring. And people died a lot younger then. I have been retired for only a little over 5 years, and I have collected everything I paid in. I'm now working on what my employer paid in. If we continue at current rates, I only have to be retired less than 10 years to get back everything. Then I'll be working on free money, or at least what would have been accrued interested, had it been invested in the free market. Medicare is similar, except even more so. So they should both be re-structured, but kept in place. Just as a side note...I used to pay about $10,000 a year for medical coverage, and this year I will pay about $1259, plus extra dental and co-pays and deductibles, which I had covered in the previous medical policy. Quite a bargain at the taxpayers expense.

The system is immoral.

So is teh staggering debt that The Obamaniac has piled up, and continues to pile up, that future generations of Americans, the majority of which have not even been born yet, are going to be forced to pay for. This will criiple, or destroy, the U.S.'s global economice hegemony forever.

How can you pile up TRILLIONS of dollars in debt and say, "Oh well, let our great-great-grandchildren work to pay it off," ? IT'S IMMORAL !

I thought at first you wanted to discuss Social Security and/or Medicare in a thoughtful, intelligent, adult manner. Please excuse me for thinking you might have something to add to the conversation, when in fact, you just wanted to vent your usual anti-Obama screed. No wonder things can't be fixed with attitudes like that.

TRUE or UNTRUE: The Obamaniac has piled up more debt in his 4 years in office than ALL previous POTUSes COMBINED.

And I have a suggestion that is REASONABLE, but POLITICALLY UNTHINKABLE for the Democrats: Revise teh Social Security law to state that "no person may withdraw MORE MONEY from the Social Security system than he or she has paid in to the system."

WHY is that so unreasonable when the system is so unsustainable as currently structured ?

Says someone who hasn't paid a penny of SSI in years!

Nothing new from a hypocrite.

Forget it. You always reply the same way the current Republicans do. Nothing really constructive, just anti anything else.

I'm not here to debate what Obama has or has not done. Placing blame for existing problems does nothing to solve them. If and ever you want to discuss what can and should be done, let me know. Otherwise let's just forget it, like Congress has done. And your senseless suggestion means you would be kicking perhaps millions off Social Security just at a time when they need every penny they can. I know a 90 yr. old woman who gets $900 a month. She probably got back all her money years ago. She has no living relatives. What do we do, just let her starve in the gutter? Put a little thought into your responses or don't bother.
