Perhaps you are right.
I think you may have confused me with a Republican.

I won't admit to being anything but an existentialist, and I'm not even very good at being that.

Unemployment rates rise in 90 percent of US cities
Unemployment rates rose in nearly all large U.S. cities in June as college graduates and many of those still in school began searching for jobs.

Some recovery

Recoveries take time.

As someone directly involved with TARP, I can see its effects.

It's working.

Yes it is, at least in my state and in my local community.

New businesses are opening up all over the place, and my clients are complaining that they have to compete for construction workers in SoFla. Contractors are raking it in, housing prices are going up.

I can't speak for the other states, but it's working here in Florida.

Also, I am neither a liberal or a conservative. This is not an ideological opinion. It's an eyewitness account.

I think you and others would better percieve reality if you took off your ideological blinders.

Bulls##t. The govt. still owns GM and the Italians own Chrysler. How's that working out for the American taxpayers? If what we're living through is a recovery, you need to read up on your history books. Look up some guy named Ron Reagan and see how he handled an inherited recession.

I'm sorry, but I cannot take someone with a username like yours seriously. You basically declare that you cannot or will not be objective, and that you are only interested in spouting useless ideology. And yes, I'd say the same if you were a left wing moonbat rather than an obnoxious right wing reactionary.
But since you asked, I think Fiat taking over Chrysler is probably the best thing that could happen to them. Fiat has already made lots of progress in its auto de-uglification program.
Chrysler and GM both asked for it. Look at Ford.
And please, I'd rather not read yet another Reagan fanboi post, the circumstances are very different today.

"De-uglification?" What does that have to do with a foreign company buying out an American company, for a bargain price, after the shareholders were screwd out of their investment and the taxpayers were ripped off to shore up the union pensions. What's your favorite flavor of Kool Aid?

Chrysler sucked, GM somewhat less so. They got what they deserved and they are the ones primarily responsible for their success or failure.
I thought you were a conservative and capitalist and would understand this concept.
Unions suck as well, and share some of the responsibility for exporting their own jobs.
And guess what? Obama had nothing to do with that.
I don't drink Kool-Aid, but your username paints you as someone who not only drinks it, but has a favorite flavor. Let's say grape.
So you should change your name to Orange Kool-Aid is Defective.
