I was a young girl of 12 in Concord, TN before it became Farragut, when Glenda Sirmans, also 12 was murdered. Her killer was never known. I still have newspaper clippings from the News Sentinel when it happened. A long time friend of mine thinks she knows who did it & has had some "confirmation" of such, but she's afraid to come forward. I told her I would. It's not right someone can kill anyone, let alone an innocent little girl & get away with it. I'd loved to see this resolved before I die!

Marianne Greer, if you see this.. we are talking about Glenda on the Kathy Jones thread on Websleuths. Look under cold cases and look for TN Kathy Jones 1969. Kathy lived in Nasvhille.

Kathy Jones disappeared 11/29/1969 on her way to go roller skating at the All Weather Rollerdrome at 523 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN.

Like Glenda she was "shy" and "quiet". She had a 20 minute walk, just like Glenda. She was found not wearing her clothing, just like Glenda. Her clothes were wadded up and thrown down beside her, but Glenda's might have been as well before the animals scattered them.

These murders may be related. The cause of death is different, but the victims are very similar type girls.

It would be less then 3 hours (back then) to drive from where Glenda was murdered to where Kathy disappeared.

Marianne, she can remain anonymous. We need to solve these baby's cases so they can rest in peace. I hope she will contact someone.

They need to be looking into Vicky Lynn Sharp Burross' disappearance over 2 years ago! The Knoxville or Jefferson County Police Dept. have done nothing to find this woman!

My best friends sister went missing in 92 and was found years later. I do not believe the person who confessed did it I have a feeling it was someone else and every time I was around this person he always seems suspicious. We have tried to get kassi trimers case open back up but we keep getting shot down because the person who confessed was protecting someone. Things that were said that happened don't add up.

There is a lot of misinformation about Glenda on websleuths. Boathaul has it all wrong.

Glenda was a cousin of mine. I never met her since we live in CT, but I remember how much this affected my Mom. I was 8 when she was killed and my Mom wouldn't let me go anywhere and taught me to be leery of cars approaching me and to never talk to strangers. Glenda's Dad was never the same after he had to go down and identify her. I've searched in the past to see if there was any clues as to who could've done this and noticed that she wasn't the only victim and I believe also that there is a connection between others and my cousin. I pray that they will re-open this case and bring some closure to all of us.

The kidnapping and murder of Glenda shocked the small community of Farragut/Concord. It was so tragic. It was a very violent murder. She was walking from her house on Virtue Rd to her friends house on Evans Rd. She was murdered where she was found off of Lakeland Dr in Loudon County. The main suspect was a deacon in the same church Glenda attended. I believe he was a friend of the family because it was reported she was friends with his step daughter. That man was a fugitive living under a different name. About 7-8 months later he killed his wife and step daughter and dumped the bodies in Ft. Loudon lake. He was convicted of those murders and escaped from prison in 1977 with James Earl Ray. He was caught but escaped again in the mid 80's. He was killed in a police shootout.

Oh, I am sorry to hear that. I don't know much about this case other than news reports. I am wondering... does anyone know about media coverage at the time? Was there much more than we can find now? People on WS do care about Glenda. She (and her loved ones) deserves justice.

I understand due to what my family went through with Kathy. But, at least Kathy was not missing as long as Glenda was. I just cannot understand why anyone would harm these young girls.

The newspapers at the time were the Knoxville News Sentinel which was the afternoon paper and the Knoxville Journal which was the morning paper. The Journal is no longer in business. After reading some posts on Websleuths I will clear up a few things. She was found off Lakeland Dr in Loudon County. The lovers lane at that time is called Keener Rd which is right off Lakeland. It dead ends at Dunn Ridge which is the ridge the reports are talking about. The woman who found the shoe with the foot in it lived on the corner of Lakeland and Keener. Glenda's house is still on Virtue Rd not far from Evans Rd. She was walking from her house to Dr. Pryse's house on Evans Rd. Dr Pryce still lives there. She was last seen at the corner of Virtue and Evans. The POI lived in a log cabin at the corner of Union Rd and Smith Rd which is within walking distance to the church on Smith rd. The log cabin is no longer there. There were a lot of details that were not published but told to the students of her school by the principal. One was that she had virgin carved in her chest. It would be nice if they had a cold case unit to look into this case. I don't know if that would be from Knox county where she was abducted or Loudon county where she was found and believed to have been killed.

Hello. I had read a little on that suspect. I am curious if anyone ever talked about how he acted after the murders? I wonder if his step daughter had talked to anyone, etc....about his actions around her personally.

I also am not sure how this came up to show I live in Sevierville, ha. I actually live on Martel Road, which is right off Virtue Road, as I am sure Kevin already realizes. This case just caught my attention a couple of months ago. Just a horrible, terrible thing.

Kevin...boathaul is married to Glenda[s older sister Pam so he should know about what he is posting.
Not meaning to insult you but I read the WEBSLEUTH site very carefully, and even researched the parents' obituaries, which verified my suspicions.. I find it very interesting that Glenda was buried near her other Sirmans relatives in Cat Creek Cemetery which is in Valdosta, Georgia instead of the Concord Masonic Cemetery

Apparently Charles and Beverly were buried in the Concord Masonic Cemetery beside the Concord Masonic Lodge (which I belonged to and attended for a long time).

I remember when Glenda first went missing. I had homeroom with Pam Sirmans and recall seeing Vicky Scates and several other classmates standing/sitting around Pam and attempting to comfort her.

Marianne...you should STRONGLY suggest to your friend that she come forward and have the Loudon County Sheriff's Department reopen this case. I contacted a friend (now retired) from the Knox County Sheriff's Department who said the case files on Glenda Marie Sirmans were probably lost due to incompetent staff and incompetent record handling from that far back. I am not surprised because at that time, the Knox County Sheriff's Department had three 'cruisers' working the West end of the county...one was an Opel Kadette station wagon, one was a Ford Maverick and one was a Plymouth Fury...all with Robin's egg blue paint jobs and Sears stick on letters denoting KCPD.
