I don't understand what Bredesen's gig is with spending all this money to rehab the gov's mansion when there wasn't anything wrong with the old one.

And he took some of the old mansion and auctioned it off at govdeals.com (I know, because I bought a couple of things he was selling.)

I also don't understand his culling and cutting when it comes to healthcare. People who make their living in politics do not have the same worries that we commonfolk have, so the decisions that they make aren't ones that they themselves have to live with.

The beauty of THAT particular situation is that now the "babydaddy" new mommies have to either work or perform community service in order to receive benefits. Welfare is a political "hot potato"- no one wants to upset any minority groups. I heard some brilliant legislator has equated crack posession and the peanelties it brings with racism, of all things. Thats right; chosen behavior is now being considered inate to specific groups and thereby protected from prosecution under affirmitive action provissions.

It really never occured to me before about 5 years ago, but truely we are doomed

Ronald Reagan must be your hero, he believed in cutting funding for the mentally disabled so much so that mental institutions had to close their doors and turn the patients free, including the criminally insane. My son is actually on the waiting list through DMRS. I have recieved this notification in the mail about these cuts in services. He is nine years old and has Down syndome and is autistic. All programs like these are drying up and losing funding. It worries and sickens me that this is happening all over the state. First the Tn care cuts now this.

To MR RIGHT WING LUNATIC:Parents are getting their children the proper therapy and medical necessities. Its not over when they become adults. People with disabilities do sometimes need care on through adulthood. There is no quick fix and we love are children and family members who happen to be disabled. If the insurance doesnt cover it, and the family can't afford it, then we depend on these services to help cover some of the costs. We do the best we can and work our butts off for it. We are tax paying citizens as well you know. I mean no disrespect but untill you can walk a mile in our shoes then will you understand.

Boy that is an unfair and insensitve thing to say.Yeah there are some people that have and still do lie and take advantage of disability.There are those that cannot work because of real mental problems.These people need help.What and where are they going to do and go.I am currently on disability and have been for 6 months.I am not one of that takes advanage of this.Iam 48 and worked most of my life and out of the blue I got sick.So sick I was going to loose my job.So I put in for disabiliy and got it and i also got early retirement from my work.Getting sick was not in my planes nor is getting a free ride.You dont how it feels until it happens to you.
