The people that believe we can't afford to operate an 85 bed hospital with an average of 20 patients.

If they don't get set up with electronic medical records they will lose payments from Medicare in 2014. It is mandatory from the government that this be in place by then.

Yes, one percent per year. Can't afford to do that with 20 patients. Can't afford to do it and can't afford not to. Time for a long term lease.

The hospital simply can't afford to support itself. Lease it to a company that can.

We are where we are. For whatever the reason, people with above average intelligence got us here. When in doubt, always follow the money and things start to clear up.

I am so confused, in the paper it said that "If you have reservations about turning this think around, let me remind you that Covenant(Health Systems) and a host of other players are most willing to step into your shoes," said Shiffer. Shiffer is one that had put a bid in to gather a list of buyers or someone to lease the hospital. The board of CCH and County Commission chose to use Decosimo for financial reasons evidently which is wise until I wondered, if there is already a list of ones to buy or lease the CCH, why pay someone $72,000 to make up a list??????? Why not have Covenant and "others" meet directly with our boards??? What am I missing???

Just happy for now that we will have a short list of sale or lease options in 12 weeks. There is a lot to consider and having a top cpa firm like Decosimo's is sound business.

"Sound business"? If there is a list already of buyers???? Just give me the money and I will supply names, all I would have to do is go to the newspaper or make a few phone calls, I could use the $72,000.00.

You may have a point. We will know more in 12 weeks. Leasing is not simple and will be a long process no matter how much we dislike the process. Do we really think we want the county court to do this on their own?

Of course leasing is no simple task, but that is why each entity has "crooks", sorry I meant lawyers on their payroll.
