Why is it the News Herald story doesn't mention the more than $2 million already spent on land and the $1 million lost by the city and LCUB when they bought the land they are not going to use?

Why is it I have to read the News Sentinel to get the real story?

Because city hall reviews and edits their stories.

You could have read all about it a week before the NS reported it on Van Shaver's web site. His is the only place to get any local news.

Yes, Shaver had half the story first. Van never gets perspectives from other sources. The NS always interviews somebody on both sides of the issue.

Yeah, unless one of the Hines family does something stupid or Estelle Herron makes a full moon ass of herself. Then he doesn't say a word.

I'm just saying.. when I first read Shaver's story I was concerned that Lenoir City might be in trouble.

After hearing from the esteemed Mayor Aikens and Councilman/incumbent Road Supervisor Eddie Simpson, I am now assured that everything is going to be OK.

After all, if LCUB can't use the land they can just sell it back to the city ... no harm no foul.

A lot of complaints, but look at the improvements in the city. Note that this was accomplished under recessionary conditions that threaten to destroy many small towns.

Most small towns dont have utiluties funds. Dont you know the city council and utilities board in your city is virtually the same committee of men getting it all done.
It dont matter where the money comes from. As long as the job gets done and we keep these men in office.

Let's see here... You must either be a city worker or these men are related to you
