Paddling is a last resort. It should be the parents to do this, not the principal. Stop making the school system raise our children...its a sad day when they are the parents instead of the real ones. I say expel all the pains in the asses and let the parents deal with them like it use to be. The responsible parents can have the reward of free education....period.

I say paddling at school shows authority. I had my share, and I'm not making appointments to lay on a couch.
By all means I ain't sayin beat the sh*t out of them, just a little wake up call. maybe you wouldn't have so many bullies, if they knew the principal\teacher was gonna smack that little *ss for em.
If my little one decides to be an *ss then she can get paddled at school and if its really bad she'll get another when she gets home.
I see no difference being unruly at papaws and him smackin that *ss or at school-- discipline is discipline. If the parent is fine with so be it.
Not every child behaves 100% of the time.

That is the whole reason kids are the way they are today...they are NOT disciplined by the so called "real parents"...I may only be 20 but I can still remember a young man gettin the sh!t beat out of him by means of paddling for misbehaving in school when I was in the 2nd grade...SHAME ON YOU!! I think you may need an A$$ beating yourself...I say let the teachers whip the sh!t out of them...maybe it will get rid of these so called gangsters...it would most definantly make the kids think twice about doing wrong again...it worked on me...I had my share of ass beatings when I was younger...you remember those things and you remember what will happen if you do bad things again...of course there is always some idiot that takes advantage of it all and has to be the bad parent....

That's exactly what's wrong with kids, no butt whippings in schools and no PRAYER. Without a whipping kids know they can run the schools. And they have no respect for their elders. with some kids it takes that type of disipline to gain respect. They have to know you mean business.
We raised our kids this way and they respect us. At the same time they know we LOVE them also. And they don't get whippings alot, they know the difference in what's right or wrong.
I expect whatever adult is in charge to disipline my kids if they step out of line.... That's the way it was in the old days... and we've all lived to tell about it...
the parents that whine about their kids being disiplined are the same ones that let them by with everything and they end up being spoiled little brats and that carrys on to adulthood.

AND TEACH YOUR KID WHO JESUS IS !!!

I believe as a last resort only in paddleing your child. but do you really want someone else hitting your child? I believe it should only be done by the parent, even if they do it at school in front of the teacher or who ever they got in trouble from. have a nice day.

Careful now. Don't anybody call it a whuppin, or even punishment. You should only use the term discipline. Even if the parents provide all the proper discipline at home correctly, the students still spend most of their waking hours in an atmosphere that DOES NOT back it up, often resulting in complete undermining of the parental authority. As for kicking out the bad ones, you want them on the streets casing your house while you are at work? You want to pay for their incarceration later on? I know I don't. A better option would be to bring back corporal punishment, perhaps with parental consent. Sometimes the only thing that works is to reach the subconcious. That prevents the conscious mind from coming up with all sorts of things in the first place.
I find it amazing that the current system is designed to leave the rotting apple in the barrel so as not to offend it, while risking/encouraging rot to the remaining apples. Personally, I think that is a cop-out and the truth is that nobody wants to get their hands messy.
Perhaps it's not the case here, but it's a safe wager that if the parents applied appropriate discipline at home, the teacher wouldn't have had to apply it at school. It's an even safer bet that if parental authority was reinforced at school, these incidents would be most rare.
The above is just generally speaking, as we don't have all the details, and we certainly weren't all there. The parent is trusting the teacher to shape and form their childs very brain. Surely they should be trusted to implement discipline.

Everybody LOVES that principal.
Rumor has it that she will be completely exonerated. The bruises were actually done by his parents. They didn't say anything till a day or two after...
Of course, that's just rumor,we'll see how it plays out.I feel for the Principal though.

Leann would NEVER paddle a student without a parents consent. I have asked her a time or two to paddle mine. By the time the kids ever got home they would forget why they are being punished. But I know as a parent at this school, that she would not harm a student and WITHOUT A DOUBT, not punish a student without the parent knowing first. We miss her and hope she comes back soon

Some have called me a coward for doing it. I think it's smart. When I travel to Vandy for a game I always dress as a Titans fan. I even wear blue when UT plays Kentucky in basketball.
