You noticed that too? I think something is wrong with their 1 button when it is pressed at the same time as shift too. Like it gets stuck or something. Maybe they spilled their kool-aid and their keyboard got sticky?

Sad thing is Mr. Kirk left a wife and 2 children behind. Why would Mr. Hays be in Mr. Kirk's yard after 11 p.m. with a flashlight and a gun? Mr. Kirk investigated what was happening outside his family's home. Seems people make different decisions if they have a loaded gun? Very sad for his children and wife and parents. I wonder why Mr. Hays was in Mr. Kirks yard with a gun? and a flashlight?

For your information, Steve was not the type to just go out and shoot someone. He was an upstanding citizen and a wonderful human. No doubt that Mr. Hayes began the arguement and that he is the cause of the altercation. Steve was not the type to instigate a fight....just needed you to know that.

I think it's sad that some people have nothing better to write about besides caplock!I'm sure that's probely the way they choose to write. And yes if people didn't carry guns and like "not even the same" said there would not be HALF the killings the are today!

I live in across the street from neighborhood where this shooting occured. My husband woke me up when he heard what he was certain to be gunfire. We could also hear loud voices, but could not make out what was being said. In a matter of minutes we saw numerous police cars, ambulances and fire trucks arrive on the scene. I'm very curious as to whether this was just a fight or an attempted robbery.

If you go about any where on topix you would see the caplocks problem. If you got a problem with guns being carried by law abidding citizens such as myself...There is always Canada.

I heard the gunshots, called 911. Mr. Kirk was getting home from a trip and unloading his car and saw Mr. Hayes sneaking around his house with a gun and a flashlight in his possession. Why would he be doing that unless he was up to no good? A really nice, decent guy lost his life, and a raging bully is still walking among us. This is a nice little neighborhood, or at least use to be, until a resident decided to take a late night walk with a gun in his hand. He was looking for trouble; it just too bad that it was Mr. Kirk who died. Mr. Hayes shot his gun around six times, not caring who got hit. One bullet went through a sliding glass door in another condo. Any of us could have been his victim. This is the result of an idiot having a gun. My deepest sympathies to Steven's family.

Steven was a dear friend of mine. He was not a violent man. He was full of life and love for his family and his friends. He will be dearly missed. I still can't believe it. God Bless you, Steven.

As Steven's very best friend, and being the one to clean up his blood, I must say that I am very alarmed and still in shock by what has happened! I truly hope that the truth in this matter will surface, as I have and will always remember my friend as a protector of people, and not and not a trouble maker. Please pray for his children and family if you believe in prayer. This incident has us all on our heels and hearts broken. He was my friend and brother. Also pray for Mr. Hayes, that he has the willingness to tell the truth vs a version of "his" truth. Folks, I am, and will be biased throughout this process, but really would like the truth for my own personal closure issues. Thanks to all of you who are friends of my friend.
