i do believe the taxpaying citizens of this state would have no trouble seeing our revenues used for keeping these criminals deep down in the dark holes of maximum security.
that serves the public good.

i mean we allow lazy slobs to get candy and other food items at our expense.
someone, somewhere decided that was for the public good as well, though most of us would rather not be funding that.

wouldn't take much of a fund raising drive around here to raise enough funds to keep all involved in this crime locked away in maximum security until the march towards the death chamber.(which we'd gladly donate the funds for that too.)

I had a state representative tell me years ago that one of the reasons against stiffer sentances for crimes was that when you have stiffer sentances you need more jails and prisons and those jails and prisons being built result in tax increases.

Thats a shame. What we need to do is rely more on the death penalty for vicious crimes and just start killing these people instead of babysitting them for the rest of their lives.

Maximum security is neither a deep dark hole, nor is it a depressing place to be. It is a separate pod with fewer priviledges & freedoms, but it has the same sanctioned activities & protections & treatment as anywhere else. Federal & State guidelines are strictly abided by and enforced.
As much as all of us would love to hear these demonic, evil SOBs will suffer, it won't happen in the prison system. Most of people's perceptions of prisons are "urban legends". They are "wards" of the state and are probably more scrutinized than foster parents who take in unwanted children.

I'd say this see saw has gotten a wee bit lopsided!

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Virgo

If you've got an important task to accomplish, this is the time to do it. A Libra Moon ensures that you're level headed, focused and unmoved by the behaviour of others for the next day or so. Don't put any undue pressure on yourself, Virgo: if you don't get it right the first time, you know there'll be another chance. The pessimistic people that you are likely to encounter today need your logic and positive input.
