Yes, A Lady, I believe you know him as well. I wish I had never ever heard of him. To all of you out there that is making this about "bad cops", it shouldn't be. It is about a very abusive, controlling, sick individual who maybe used his status as a police officer to "attract" his victims. I was very close to one of his victims and am very well aware of his severe abusive behavior, unfortunately, my daughter will never be able to come forward and disclose any truths about Brian Hoover, except through her journal entries. I do hope and pray that this young lady will stay strong through this ordeal and maybe more young girls will also come forward with their stories.

Paid administrative leave, sounds like a vacation.
Brian won't serve any time. He's a cop.
I would lose my gun carry permit if it was me.
If he is convicted, he'll lose his job and his ability to carry a weapon just like anyone else would.

Why don't you look a little deeper into the case before you judge what happened? Or better yet, let the facts come out in court and the court decide what happened? Don't believe everything you see on tv or read in the papers. If he is guilty, he'll pay the price. The News-Sentinel and the tv stations will report what is most sensational to sell the ad space and air time to get you to watch their station or buy their paper.

A full investigation is underway and will come out in court.

All the police haters on this site are terribly misguided. They just show their ignorance of the law whenever they post a comment. If he has broken the law then he will be punished. Most of you get to live your lives as sheep. Most of you maybe would lose your job but a police officer is held to a much higher standard. If one of use breaks the law we lose our career forever. That is why he is on administrative leave. Until an offcer is PROVEN guilty they have constitutional rights just like every other citizen.

All the cop haters on here need a reality check. They are quick to judge all officers on the actions of the few. What they fail to realize is everyday we strap on body armor and a weapon and keep them safe from all the vile and disgusting people who prey upon the innocent. For all the cop haters, if you think you can do a better job then fill out an application, pick up a Glock 22, and walk a beat. Until then post your words of hatred, sleep in your warm beds at night, and Police Officers will stand ready to fight for your right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. George Orwell said it best, "Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

Just finished with a long discussion with KPD and told them everything I know about Mr. Hoover. I feel relieved, but scared. I worry that his buddies will try to hurt me, but my support system is strong! I have since learned that one of his ex girlfriends was not so lucky to have survived his abuse, so for her I come forward so that this man's madness will be stopped! If their are others out there, please come forward now, our power is in numbers!!!!

To no identity - please be very, very careful contacting someone you don't know, please. You need to be very careful! Brian Hoover is a serial killer and he is very smart, even though his KARMA TRAIN is derailing, don't be too brave! Please take heed! BOND sounds like a detective, so what? Do you know him? HEED THIS WARNING AND BEWARE!!! From people who know what they are talking about.

If Hoover is guilty of the charges he will and should be fired and jailed.
Several comments have been made that the details are being withheld because this is a cop. Heck, if he were a regular citizen it would not had made even a hint of a mention by the news media, so accusing KPD of a coverup is stupid. Labeling all cops as corrupt because of the very small minority of bad ones is illogical. Remember who arrested these bad cops, other cops.

How do you know him? Have a ticket or two from him and still mad that you got caught? Yes, his ex-fiancee is dead, but as a result of a car crash, not anything directly related to him. Hoover is a good cop that has a few problems, not the monster you make him out to be. We all have problems that get the best of us from time to time, his just happened to get the best of him now. Let the investigation find what it can, and then the courts decide what happened. Until then, you're entitled to your opinion, whether it be right or wrong, it is yours.

Lets get one thing straight, no one on this board probably knows Brian Hoover, nor does anyone know the situation. For all we know, it could be some psycho ex girlfriend who threw herself down the stairs to make it look like he "beat" her. But I don't know the case and neither does anyone else.
Second, Police Officers risk their lives everyday and get paid hardly NOTHING to do it. Can anyone else say that they live their lives to help save others? If it wasn't for them more people who rape, murder, and torture others would be out there. God made these people specifically to help us out. But they get the bad reputation b/c some people speed and get a ticket b/c why? THEY WERE BREAKING THE LAW.
I am not saying every police officer is perfect b/c they are not. But Dear God! Lets sacrifice everyone for something wrong like school lunch ladies- theres too much trans fat in a burrito so when is their turn to be scolded? Or Bankers. If someone goes bankrupt, lets just blame the FDIC or the loan officer who was dumb enough to give them a loan.
Innocent until proven GUILTY. Is he guilty? We don't know yet so stop putting the blame. If he's innocent and the charges are dropped, I hope you people feel good about yourselves.
Thank you for taking the time to wait for the investigation into the matter. And, it is nice to hear that not all common sense is dead...

I do know Hoover and have ever since he came to this department. I know him well enough to wait and see what the investigation will uncover and then see what everyone thinks once the facts come to light.

Knoxville Police Officer:
I have great respect for the men who risk their lives on the streets every day.
However, I have to question why the details of this incident have not been released to the public. Do you honestly believe that if he had been an ordinary citizen, his privacy would have been respected? Lack of information leads to rampant speculation.
<quoted text>
The information is not public because the investigation is ongoing. That's standard procedure for any investigation, regardless of who is involved. What info we have in an investigation is held until it is presented to the prosecutor. If info is given out to the public, it is in the hopes of assisting the investigation (giving out a robbery suspect description or a vehicle description to the media) to come to a conclusion/arrest.
Hoover's arrest was made public because it is public record. The arrest is not the whole investigation, just the initial part.
Once the investigation is complete, the info might be witheld from the public because the info might unfairly taint a possible jury pool before the case goes to trial. Once the case is settled in court, all info is released.

Does anyone actually know what happened? There is a lot of speculation but no facts. If anyone know for sure what happened and how many victims there are please post them.
