The price is right I will sell and live flithy rich. Just think I also helped create jobs that are not existant here today.
They must have someone in mind who wants to move in here or they would not be after this the way they are.

And they plan on offering you TEN times what you paid for it, or more. It is bad, but if looked at in the proper perspective, it could be beneficial. You could buy a smaller farm, with the knowlege of how to do it already aquired. Hell, you could probably buy a couple mexicans and do even more than you are now. Think about a new a/c tractor with a cd player, and more new equipment and a couple condo's in other parts of the world. Lots of new toys to tinker with sounds like fun to me. And no, I don't think it will ever happen and it won't benefit me in the least, but I always thought someone would buy me out and I could consolidate and do it an easier way, after doing it the hard way. That dream is NOT going to happen anytime soon and if it does I will have to hire it done. So there could be an opportunity for living that some could enjoy, instead of just talking about it. You could get cancer tommorow and it would b a totally different situation. And god knows ifyou get all wound up, as so many have, a stroke would only benefit them more. It ain't gonna happen.

I like how everybody thinks these folks losing their homes is gonna get rich by selling their land. I see people say they are offering 10 times what they paid for it. Well how's this sound? They just offered a man who owns 65 acres at this mega site $117,000! It sure sounds like he is making is money back and will be able to retire handsomely.

There is no sense making shit up. That's (EXACTLY) 1800 per acre, which is probably more than he is paying tax on, but still stupid. Hell, we paid almost 15,000.00 per acre for worthless farmland for the schools, so surely you don't expect us to believe this line of shit. Try again, under a different name and raise the price because even the stupid people know that ain't true. Or maybe he should hire Edmonds as a realtor !

Call Leroy Malone and ask him. That's just 1 of the lowball offers that have been given.

So you are saying Leroy Said that ?
I find it funny as hell that you claim "lowball offers" are being made when the commission hasn't agreed to pay a dime, yet ?

Yepeee / Amun Ra, you know, I just love asswipes...

So, poor ol Leroy has 21.23 acres appraised at 110 grand, that he paid 35 grand for in 1992 and pays 170 bucks a year in taxes. But someone lowballed him at 117 thousand, yeah, right.

And then he has the 43 acre tract that he paid 11 grand for, in 1990. Currently appraised for 348 grand which he pays about 540 bucks a year on.

Lets summarize,,,he spent 46 grand on pasture land, 20 years ago. Now it's worth 458 grand and cost him 710 bucks a year in taxes and we are supposed to cry for him ?
And he can pull the 25k in improvements with him when he leaves...

Sorry, I'm not feeling the pain.
Anybody else you want to name ??? C'MON !

I don't understand your beef with people who don't want to sell their property and homes. It really doesn't matter how many numbers I throw out or that you throw out or how mad you are that they don't pay high taxes on their property, we are never gonna see eye to eye. I enjoy my home and farm where I live and so do all those who will be affected by the mega site and unless this county can find me the exact same acreage with a home and other out buildings on it then I'm not getting fair value for property that they want to buy. Now I know you're still gonna fuss and cuss and call me names but until its you facing the loss of property that's been in your family for 7 generations, then you ain't got no place to talk.

Wrong. I own the house and property on which I live. My parents actually live with me. I use the little bit of money generated from our small farm to help pay land taxes, property insurance, and my parents medical bills. I also work a regular job as well to pay the other bills and try to have a decent life as I take care of my folks. So don't come on here and make lofty assumptions about folks, cause you aren't always right. There are plenty of people in this county who aren't lazy and actually do a bit of work instead of looking for a handout from hardworking folk.

If you have greenbelt property, you are getting a "handout from hardworking folk" (government discount). People in this county who own an acre of lakefront property are paying 10 times the property tax to subsidize the 40 acre greenbelt properties that pay a pittance in property taxes that others pay in this county. Lakefront or not, if it is not greenbelt, everyone's property taxes go up to pay for county expenses, and everyone pays more to subsidize the greenbelt taxes that pays pennies in comparison. If it is not being farmed, it should pay the same taxes as everyone else!

I agree with you. If its not being used in some fashion for production agriculture, it should be taxed like everyone else. The only fair tax is one that everyone pays and it shouldn't be outrageous for anyone.

Well, it is outrageous for many. If they would offer me above assessment value for mine, I would jerk their arm off to get out of this ignorant, backward county!

BTW - I will clarify by saying that my gripe is the leadership in this county. With the mess we have in county commission, I don't see this county going anywhere but down!

When elders of your great land dig up the bones of spirits near the Long water with earth movers, they will have bad spirit. Not go well with big project. Elder Palmerry need read history of great land he wishes to steal. Many warrior pass along the big land through narrow pass. Your elders not wise to this. Elder Jarnigann have wisdom. He need smoke ceremony pipe with elders that wish to steal Blackburn big land then they will see what i tell you is true.

I believe that angle is being discussed but it might not have enough historical value to stop the megamistake. Lay off the darned ceremonial pipe before Bud gets your ass.
