Can we work on the inmate population at Brushy Mountain? We need to weed some criminals out of that place. Just about everyone that resides there are criminals. Whew, that is going to clean up the place for a while!

AMAZING. Oak Ridge Police Chief David Beams was able to perform his duties and do something. AT LAST some one has revived him. Sep 5, 2003 my son was slunged around in the back of a truck until he was knocked out and medical records show that he was unconscious when he was kicked off the back of that truck. The 22 year old on the back with my son, could not give a statement because he could not read or write. The names of other witnesses was not collected at the scene. The young man driving the truck boasted at my son's funeral that the police were not going to do anything to him. Letters to Chief Beam could not get him to do an accidental reconstruction. and no one has yet to tell us why this innocent young man lost his life. The other passenger's statement said"We didn't intend to kill him."
well today I am still wondering what were you intending to do. Scare him and ended up killing him and for policial reasons the Chief of Police protected you. I have documentations showing evidence of a homocide and no one will look at them including then District Attorney Jim Ramsey,
TBI, Mayor, Alderman and Sheriff of Anderson County. Attorney Pat Cooley said the reason nothing was investigated was because of polictics. Such a shame my family resides in Morgan County and does not vote in Anderson County.

About damn time! Now if we could just demolish the Scarboro neighborhood the crime rate would drop by 90%.
And they need to give these criminals more than just a slap on the wrist as punishment for their drug dealing.

Chief Beams was quoted as saying, "For many of these individuals, this is not their first charge. Many of them have multiple indictments." Whatever punishment they received the past time(s) didn't work to discourage them from continuing their involvement in illegal drugs. They need to try something different this time to not only get them off the street, but KEEP them off if they want to impact the lives of the rest of the Oak Ridgers in a positive way.

When the "higher up" drug dealers simply go and bail these lower thugs out of jail, the cycle of crime continues over and over and over again.

What if we moved everyone who makes the choice to be involved with drugs ~ either by using, selling or both ~ to an island where they could ruin their lives all by themselves? Leave the rest of us alone so we can live our lives away from their filthy crime and abuse.

I thought it was funny as all get out.
I felt that maybe the sheriff had been arrested since the story was about him.

Well at least it keeps the entertainers busy who repeat the same story over and over until wheels run on the rims.

I probably know more about what came down since I talked to one of the citizens who told me about what happened.

i'm amazed somewhat but at the same time am hoping its just not the ones who do the least harmful drug dealing. As in WEED one officer told me he usually let the crackheads go and told them to leave before he arrested them. I often wondered why they crack down so hard on WEED and not crack or meth some things just don't make sense.

AMEN. They need to go after the people doing those hard drugs that make them do things that they wouldn't normally do....like rob people that has worked hard to have what they have and taken by someone to finance their next high. The people that use pot are usually laid back and bother nobody. I don't do it but have been around people that do, and they are never violent in any way. These are the ones that the law want to go after. They are not a threat to them. On the other hand the ones doing the hard stuff might do some damage to them. They are the dangerous ones.

Question: Why would you only process names? Don't you process the actual criminals as well?

Please don't tell me this was a serious question?! Of course they process the offenders. That is what the article stated. What it means is they will give us, the public, the names of the people arrested once they have been booked and their charges brought up to them.

Chief Beams has taken the right approach, arresting bad guys. To bad his counterpart in Knoxville can't do the same instead of his PR campaign.
