I found your posting rather amusing so I don't mean to mock you but I have a question.... it's the picky side in me.

The only way to get on I81 via interstate is to first get on I40 and head east. Since I81 is a connecting interstate form I40 rather than allowing direct entrance as I75 and I40 do, why did you mention I81. Coming out of Knoxville, getting to the end of the earth would start with either I75 or I40 prior to connecting to any other freeway. Thus, my question. Why did you suggest I81 but not suggest I24, I20, or any other interstate in the country?

Anal, I know.

Perhaps if you read some of the other posts, you would know that moving from market to market is endemic with news personalities. If they're good, the move up. If not, they go down or get out. Knoxville is a very small market, so it sees a lot of folks traversing the ladder.
There are 210 television markets in the U-S, ranging from Number 1 (New York, the largest) to number 210 (Glendive, Montana; the smallest) Knoxville is the 58th largest market in the country. Not exactly a "very small market." It is certainly large enough for a number of people in the business to stay here for a long time. But of course, being a medium size market, a number of people do move onward and upward. It's the nature of the business.

What's going on with channel 10 news? I got interested watching the morning news when Michelle Sylva, Ben Bailey, and Ben Singer were on. They were absolutely fun to watch. I have all my tv's in my house programmed at 5am to turn to channel 10 automatically. I just love the personnalities. Next thing I know Ben Bailey is leaving replaced with Julia. Then Michelle moved to Style, replaced with Abby. Now Ben Senger? Why are all the great ones leaving? I could have cried when Abby left. Im sure the new girl and Russell with make the show very interested. But, What's going on, why does channel 10 keep loosing the good ones.

Beth H. is one the hottest, and best reporters, in NOXVUL! And she's "local"

well i dont agree with that , the other news channels seem to keep their people longer. wbir has had to many new faces someone in upper management must be hard to get along with the pay isnt there ,,i notice wbir changes anchors ect more often ,i watch all three of them at one time or another.

I'm not surprised by the lack of thought in a comment that comes from someone who goes by "pitbull owner." Why don't you pick a bridge to drive off.

Yeah, you're right. They do move a lot. Carl Williams was here just days, and then it was Bill Williams for a few days, and Ted Hall and Robin Wilhoite? Mere beginners. I guess you're right.

I am sorry to hear Ben is leaving. Ben, much success in wherever you chose to go. As for Bill Williams and Eddie Ellis these two were top notch announcers. Don't know if we will ever get this kind of professionals again at the anchor desk but for now Channel 10 has the second best in Robin Wilhoit and John Becker at the anchor desk. Better keep these two. Very good. Always nice to see Bill drop in on special occasions. He is missed. These two keep me watching.

Knoxville is the AA baseball of news and for the most part the reporters and anchors are your ballplayers. Why wouldn't they want to move up to AAA or the Major League and make some major cash?

I'm sure the move to Atlanta for Ted Hall and his family was hard, but getting a couple hundred thousand dollars pay raise helped ease his pain.

Seriously what really happend in East TN except a shooting now and then,, maybe a small town govt. scandal twice a year...Oh yeah lots of car crashes and house fires and on once every couple of month a big fire..

Also we can't forget people freaking out over the thought of getting a couple of inches of snow,,only to see it flurry for a few hours and stop.

I once heard that WBIR could put up a shot of some cows in a field and people would watch it and still beat the competition,,oh wait they do it's called the Heartland Series.

Just face it WBIR will keep on doing the same type of news stories and the public will still keep on watching them and their on-air people will continue to come and go..
